While 'darkspawn' isn't a word that's familiar to him, 'archdemon' is - enough so that his eyes widen when she mentions them. Having fought regular demons more than once since he's gotten here, he can only imagine that an archdemon is that much worse.

It sounds like the Wardens were able to set things to rights there, but he's still impressed by the numbers, all the same. Two of them against an archdemon and likely all its minions makes for very long odds, and it must have taken something akin to a miracle to pull it off. But it's what Kallian says next that gets him to stop before he says anything about Wardens, the shocked expression turning into a sympathetic one instead.
