"But if we're lucky, this will blow itself out. But it's not all bad. As far as I can tell, it's propelling us towards our destination. We'll have you on dry land faster than if we were coasting along on smooth seas."
Surely that's comforting. The thought crosses his mind that they should have spent some time considering who could swim and who was at ease on ships, but that will matter less when they make it to the island.
