"In the presence of royalty this entire time?" Michel did not seem the sort to make jokes or engage in this sort of idle behavior, simply because he wasn't often exposed to it. He was not immune to it either, so he put on his best, scandalized Orlesian front which, he was certain, fooled no one, "I've been ill dressed on every occasion, I should hang my head in shame. Now that he had done his flattering for the day, Michel made room for Zevran to come along beside him so that he could lavish the horse with attention. Not that he seemed to mind it much. As for taking an interest in Zevran's lessons? Michel was a perfectionist, harder on himself than anyone else could ever be, so if there was something to learn then it was important to do so.
