He spots her near the hart, having moved to the stall without making a single sound, and he clears his throat loudly to get her attention.

She wasn't surprised that Merrick had found out--she'd been making enough of a scene, and plenty of people knew that they were clanmates. Though her relaxed stance and the casual way she spoke made it obvious she wasn't expecting any reprimands from the other Dalish.
"Hello, Merrick. You scared me for a second there, I thought that you were that terrible woman." She makes a face. "Can you believe it, Merrick? Right out of my bed and everything. Scared me half to death, didn't even tell me where she was taking me. Creators, I think she took a year off my life."

"You didn't hear or see me coming," he tells her, sounding irritated. "That's how you spy, Bell. What the fuck were you thinking?"

Merrick was mad at her.
She withdraws, eyes turned down, and gives a stubborn shrug. "I was thinking I could do it. They didn't see me or anything, and they didn't hear me for most of the meeting, either. It was just..." She didn't want to say that she had been revealed when she started scoffing because they were being really dumb. "...It was just an accident."
