At this point, Mobius is mainly just a familiar face, but Vanya will take that much. If nothing else, it's clear Mobius isn't involved in whatever attempt is being made, and Vanya will take the help he can get. He holds his own until Mobius gets near him, but the real challenge is that he's fairly certain that most of these people are bystanders, who he's disinclined to hurt for personal reasons as well as in the name of Riftwatch's reputation. What he doesn't know is how many are working with the assassin who started the brawl.

When Mobius is close enough to him, he says, "I think that man with the notch in his ear is working with her," assuming he doesn't have to specify the her given the direction in which they're now pushing. "I can't be sure, but it seems like they're coordinating." Progress is frustratingly slow given that the altercation seems to have officially become a form of public entertainment. On the upside, the non-Crows are mainly interested in landing punches rather than anything more lethal. On the downside, there's a lot of them.
