"Inherent prejudice?"

Cassandra bristles. All that time composing her theory, doublechecking passages - she'd all but taken notes, and he dismisses it as inherent prejudice? He hadn't even considered her idea before shooting it down.

"Perhaps it is you who are prejudiced, mage," she says, her tone sharp. Perhaps overly sharp, considering the subject of discussion - but she has a lot of feelings, okay? She shakes her head sharply in frustration. As if she had not considered the scout first! "The scout is too obvious. A red herring. He is far too charming, his motive too simple. The reader is meant to suspect the scout." Her hands settle on her hips, the right one drifting unconsciously to the hilt of her sword as she glares at him. So disappointing. She finally finds someone else who has read the books, and this is all he has to offer? "But to those who see the truth, the mage is obviously the guilty party."
