Right now, Clarisse rolls over, gasping for breath. She staggers to her feet and kicks the slumped body of the clicker out of the way. She grips the gun so tight it feels grafted to her hand.
She turns to look at Ellie, pale, not sure what she’s going to say, and then there’s something else in the shadow of the door to the storage room, moving fast. Her eyes go wide.
