Clarisse’s eyes go wide, and the puzzled look on her face turns into an expression that’s surprised and amused and genuinely happy all at once.
“You want to make out in this gas station?” She makes it sound like it’s scandalous or something. Truth is, where else would they do it? There are like fifteen other people back at their camp. And it’s not like either of them are trying to hide the fact that they hook up (she thinks, anyway?) but it’s not like they’re trying to make it obvious, either.
“Uh, yeah, we could… we could add kissing,” she says after a momentary hesitation. She’s telling herself that this doesn’t necessarily mean anything. It’s not just hooking up anymore, sure, but they’re stressed and they’re freaked out and maybe this will just be a good thing that she should let be a good thing for once.
