"Um... when I was a kid, I just thought they were cool." Ellie leans against the stark metal railing, looking thoughtfully up at the plaster cast of the fossils.
"Where I come from, everything was basically ruins, or rotting. I knew about how the world used to be, but only from stories and bones." The corner of her mouth twists.
"These guys were here even before the old world. It kinda gives me some hope that even after we're gone, there'll be somebody to know that we lived. That we mattered."
