Clarisse hangs back while Ellie gives the group an explanation she already knows, and minds her own business while Derrica ushers Ellie away to take care of her arm, and keeps her distance even once Ellie's back at camp.
A lot of people want to talk to her, that's all. And maybe Clarisse doesn't feel like she deserves to be one of them after what she did. The way she pulled away when Ellie tried to hug her, the way she flat out rejected the little bit of comfort and understanding Ellie offered.
She sticks to the occasional worried glance in Ellie's direction, manages to mostly be looking away again whenever Ellie senses eyes on her and turns to check. And she figures that'll be that, until they're forced into closer proximity or it's time to make that trip to the hospital.
But Clarisse wakes in the night from a doze half-filled with nightmares, the kind of sleep that seems to last hours and seconds at the same time, that leaves her feeling disoriented and not quite awake, and after she sits up and rubs her eyes she realizes that Ellie's out on the balcony. Alone, for once.
She shrugs out of her sleeping bag and pads across the floor, stops just short of crossing the empty space where the sliding door should be.

"Hey."
