"But you still think it's something a crazy person would say." Which is fine, he can say it with a self-deprecating smile.

"I learned pretty quick not to say stuff like that to the faithful. Or to anyone, really. It's the earliest memory I have, though, so I guess that makes it even more special to me. It's why I believe as strongly as I do, but not without setbacks. And I think it's a reason why I believe...a little differently from what's specifically taught."
