Most stories paint him as a gallant hero and while he had his moments, above all else he knew what needed to be done and in the true manner befitting of Grey Wardens, he saw it done. No matter what it took to make it happen- be it reviving a golem, recruiting a Sten, a lay sister claiming visions from the maker- or an assassin that failed to kill him. The Blight needed to be stopped and he reminded us of that when we would become weary of the fight. I would not say it was heartening so much as it was 'die later, something larger than us needs to be done'." He had to admire that in him.
