That interest fades to a sympathetic frown, instead. She can't say she understands it and nor would she say so, because that's insulting when she has no real idea, but she does understand the idea of something repetative, something you have to do because you're there and not of your choice. She, personally, is just fortunate she did not mind either path chosen for her.
