The sea snake's clenching coil drags Barrow by the sword halfway across the deck, and Yseult skids after, boots gliding on the blood-slicked decking. It looks for a moment as if it might keep going, pull the injured region (and maybe Barrow or at least his sword) down into the water and out of their reach. Starting over now would certainly doom their efforts, so she exhales in muted relief as it stops short of the far rail.
