She isn't quite satisfied with that answer, but she feels it's probably a waste of time to argue the issue, knowing that she'd insist the same if their positions were reversed. She takes a nibble of the biscuit and then a larger mouthful, dabbing at the crumbs that fall into her skirt onto a fingertip and sprinkling them on the ground for a sparrow nearby to peck at.
