corpsestuff: (Weighing options)

The latter question clearly requires an answer first.

"No, I did not bind a spirit. I called up the remnants of his memories, of who he was. Every corpse has them. And yes, I'm going to ask them all. I simply wished to check the reactions of those around me before continuing and splitting my focus. People from outside the Necropolis tend to jump to conclusions regarding corpse whispering, as you just did."

His voice is calm, but his gaze is locked on to his clearly angry company and he's braced in case the elf lashes out. It's been a very long time since Emmrich has left Nevarra. He wishes he was surprised to see that attitudes outside toward what he does are still so negative.

It is surprising, though, that that's the question that comes from someone who doesn't seem to be a mage.

"I appreciate your concern for the spirits. It is too-rarely found. Now. May I continue, or do you have further objections that we need to see to first?" Emmrich is not going to speak with the next one while there's a chance of being attacked. It takes too much of his attention to call up the memories, and he doesn't want to be vulnerable.
