There are parts of the Necropolis that have been missing for far longer than he's been alive, and likely pieces he will never see. He's read about them, though, perused the descriptions in case one day he ever comes across them, and kept a hopeful eye out, which means that he'd think he should be able to recognize a corridor if it's been recorded and yet there is nothing familiar about this. It's disconcerting.

Kostos seems uncomfortable as well, or perhaps upset, though Emmrich doubts it's for the same reason. Perhaps it's being back here, or the surprise reunion, or something else entirely. It has been so long that Emmrich can't begin to hazard a guess.

"We haven't had a great deal of time to examine it, as it was discovered, or rediscovered, at the time of the disaster." As he talks, in Nevarran, he continues slowly lighting any candles they see. "I've not seen it before. I also can't seem to match it up to any descriptions of missing passageways, though it's possible I've overlooked something."

The other members of the Riftwatch don't need to know one of the experts is at a loss here.
