Her shoulders visibly droop with relief at Cosima's confirmation, and Ness heaves out a long sigh.

"Yes," is her own belated answer, coming after a moment spent compartmentalizing the anxious prickles left in the wake of her uncertainty, "yes, I can still see."

Though her eyes do somewhat smart from how hard she's rubbed them, and she is now fighting off a headache—but those will pass much more easily than lyrium mutations do. She flexes her anchor hand, and shakes her head to clear it.

Avoiding mutation isn't the only reason she wants Stephen to lop off her anchor. She would hardly count it among the most pressing of her concerns—it didn't even rate a place in the debate—but she is, nonetheless, very much looking forward to never worrying about lyrium exposure again. To being more fixed, less changeable as a result of her impending amputation. One less thing to worry over.

Cosima offers a suggestion, not instruction, but Ness jumps on it, nodding eagerly.

"Yes, please. I, ah—" She casts about for a topic, finds their surroundings less than helpful for a distraction, but that's alright, she can work with that— "I don't know a lot about lyrium, really. Is it... I know it comes in different preparations, doesn't it? Crystals, liquid preparations, dust? Are these veins its natural state?"
