Speaking of people who aren't leaders, Alistair is standing forward toward the fortress, as near as he can without going too far, and bouncing the heel of one foot. It's a childish motion. A pointless position. There's nothing to see, and when they do move forward, he won't be able to do his usual crashing-ahead-into-danger-and-dealing-with-the-cuts-and-bruises-and-burns-later thing. He'll have to follow people who are actually capable of creeping.
