Cade has gotten his foot onto Beleth, pinning her down and unsheathing his sword, when Alistair slams into him. He stumbles back in surprise, but whirls on Alistair, his sword now brandished fully, his eyes wild and vacant, his arms trembling with tension. He doesn't even seem to recognize who he's looking at-- he stands in preparation for Alistair to rush him again, his position and the set of his mouth indicating that he will kill him if he tries.
