"I can't imagine," she says gently. "When I was young, there was a plague, and I lost both my parents to it. I remember how weak they were. If we had had to move camp suddenly, they wouldn't have been able to walk at all."

Ellana doesn't mind speaking of her parents. It was so long ago, and she has few memories she can share, so she tends to default to the last memories she has of them.
