Suddenly, a cry comes from the far end of the gorge. Mages and demons alike immediately redirect all fire in the opposite direction. The terror which appears out of the ground in Herc's just-barely-vacated spot is the only one which remains. It's a big one, too, tough and strong. It blocks Herc from the rest of the group, right at the time when they must flee. But if they linger, it's possible none of them will make it out. It's now or never.
