"What's a patronus?" The way she talks about it, it certainly sounds like something important, protective magic of a sort, he's willing to guess. He'd not considered that magic might work so differently, here, that perhaps some of it may not even have the same effects as in a native world.

Kain nods, the explanation seems reasonable enough to him. It's weird to think of them not being like the airships he knows, but it's entirely plausible... after all, a lot of creatures that fly through the air have many different forms. "It's incredible to think that these things... magic, air travel... I'm sure there's more... that all of these exist on various worlds, and yet take such varying forms."

A grim expression overcomes Kain's face. He's a realist first and foremost and has considered this possibility. "Exactly. It does us no good to remain in the dark in any sense. The more informed and prepared we all are, the better. An enemy like this is sure to be planning something even now while out of sight. It's likely only a matter of time."
