While he doesn’t know all the intricacies of the world’s politics and prefers to stay out of it, Kain definitely can agree on the things which only seem to be common sense. If mages pose so much danger, absolutely they need to be taught how to ward off such threats. They need to know the horrors that are possible and train in defense against them. Yet… the restrictions like being cloistered away and such sound so awful.
