There's a whole lot of different types of magic and spells, Kirk. You're going to have fun learning them.

"I don't know about popular, certainly more common, better for those using a shield. If you want defensive though, I would go with a shield. Maybe a club or something, but that's more for someone who's planning on standing their ground." That didn't seem like Kirk's style.

"If you want you could learn to use a staff. They are definitely less sharp for the most part, and not much in ways of killing someone unless you're planning on clubbing them." Not killing is going to hard when everything is out to kill you, but he isn't going to judge. Each their own.
