[Katniss shifts, and gestures for Cyril to do the same, so they are both downwind, then looks around the terrain. She gestures to the outcropping just ahead - Cyril can go high, she'll go low, and they can both fire when he's in position.]

[Cyril nods and then moves to take the higher ground. When they're both in position he signals to her and then they can let their arrows fly.]

[Katniss watched him carefully, and then the deer, to make sure they had not been spooked. When she saw Cyril's signal, she shifted forward and notched her arrow, grey eyes narrowing on the eye of one young stag -- and letting it fly, straight and true, to take the creature down with one clean shot.

The next one wouldn't be half as good, she was afraid, but for a first shot that was damned good.]

[Together they are able to take down a couple of the deer. Cyril looks so pleased with the event and jumps down to go to her so that they can collect the meat together.]

[She's still flushed with pleasure over it, to be honest. She looks over at him, curious as they go to collect their prizes.]

I didn't know you were a hunter. I thought you were more of a ... I don't know, sword warrior type. You shoot like you were born with a bow.

Oh, yes. I've always used a bow. Merrick is the dual welder. When we hunted together for our Clan, I would always be at a distance and he up close.

Well, the way you took down that last one. [She mimicked the shot.] You shoot like you can taste which way the air is going, Cyril.

Which, I think, is saying that I shoot like I'm Dalish. [He's teasing lightly here. There are some very good archers in the Inquisition who aren't Dalish, after all. Many in fact.]

No, you shoot like an archer. You just happen to be Dalish. [Is Katniss's response. She's not a good archer because she's an elf-blood, after all. So Cyril gets a light elbow for his trouble as well.]

Can I have the skins and horns? I can trade them in town for information.

We should go hunting more often. I'll split the profits with you.

I'd really like that. [He says it as he gathers his share.] It would give us both an excuse to get away for a bit.
