And failing.]
I should not be involved in further diplomatic relations.
[To say the least.]

Oh, are you kidding me? I'm glad she told you, Nerva. How angry did you get? I can only imagine.
The gall of her. She doesn't exactly have my knack for negotiating; suppose it's not hereditary, but that much has shown itself, hm?
Still -- thank you both for humoring her.

[ He is not even kidding. He'd been afraid to release her for fear of what she might do. For the moment he simply leans into Fate, tugging Nerva along with him to rest in something close to comfortable camaraderie. ]
We hardly humored her. Nerva was ready to stab her in the eye and I was prepared to have her try again and ask nicely, properly, before turning her down. But the knifing became less an idle threat and more an imminent one.

... I am sorry, Tobrevas.
[She nearly said more, but what was there to say? Zevran was right. If she'd been there a moment more--
It was for the best, if she stayed as out of it as possible.]

[He doesn't doubt it, and really, he's flattered that Nerva felt so fired up on his behalf. It does truly mean a lot to him.
He pauses briefly at her apology, then he smiles warmly.]
There's no need to apologize. The important part, I suppose, is that no one has been stabbed.
Yet.

Not in the eye but perhaps in the ass. Something to give her a reason to look so stern at all hours.
[ To Fate this frustration he'd show easily. Nerva- less so. But if he is to trust her with Fate; he can trust her with this. For the moment.
He subtly shifts, tugging Fate and Nerva closer together. No scheming here, oh no. ]

She was among friends.
It was a strange feeling, but not an unpleasant one. They understood her. Or at least she felt like they did.
It eased the fury.
She thought about making a joke about the keeper being stabbed in the ass - there was something there, something that called for it - but she couldn't grasp the words and then the moment was gone.]
I think I may be more help in the Village, than here.
