But no matter how hard she concentrates, pride demons are hard to ignore. As soon as she realizes that the thing is heading for her, she pales and rises from her knee, turning to run for it. But while the elf is fast, those whips are faster. With a wicked cracking, the whip strikes down--Nerva's shield will protect her, but Beleth doesn't have that luxury. The magic-infused weapon strikes down, and Beleth shrieks as she's sent flying, landing on the ground with another cry.
She groans, but starts to rise again, grabbing an explosive arrow and sending it flying at the pride demon. At least she doesn't have to worry too much about aim when your target is the size of a small building. ]

Pay attention to me, you piece of shit! That's right, come get it!

She hears Beleth's cry, then Korrin calling out to the creature, she twists and takes a knee, aiming a full draw at the Pride Demon...
Waiting that full moment when Ruby is able to disrupt the rift, then sending her shot flying directly into the creature's throat.]

The Pride demon, in the meanwhile, had focused on Nerva and Beleth until Korrin barges in successfully. It snarls before it's stunned momentarily by the Rift disruption, arrows sinking into its form by the archers.
The Rift explodes with energy once more, leaving only the Pride demon left to deal with as it starts to recover. It snarls and turns toward Korrin, but the numbers are in their favor.
Twisted Fate pushes himself up--
Only for him to see a bolt of the Fade strike down; he holds up his hand instinctively, letting out a cry as it makes contact with him.]

It's Beleth's cry that shatters her focus - the Wolf lurches, and it takes everything in her not to turn and change and sink in her teeth. She can't though, she has a job to do. They all have jobs to do, roles to play, and the need to be something wild and dangerous is sharped and refocused on the rift itself, just a little further-- )
Fate.
( You know what, at this rate if freaking Zelena climbed out of the rift she wouldn't be surprised. Green stuff was always bad news. )

Beleth needed to get out of here, and she needed to get out of here now. There would be no casualties. Not today. So she ran forward, shield swinging as she slammed into the ground between Beleth and the Pride Demon, but no whip came cracking down. Korrin had taken the beast's full attention, and that would give her the few seconds she needed. Beleth let off another arrow, and then without permission or warning Nerva slung her shield up onto her back, slid her arms under Beleth, and pulled her up as if she was about to carry her over the threshold.
The next few steps were harder - she was far heavier, now, and she couldn't run exactly - and she was only about twenty feet from where she started when she heard the cry, cracking through her like Pride's whip. Fate.
She didn't call out his name. She was a soldier, and she was trained, and Zevran was already on his way and Ruby's attention was already wavering, so she grit her teeth and began to sprint for the nearest cover.]
Stay here. [She nearly roared the words at Beleth as she set her down behind the huge, fallen tree, well out of range.]
I'm going back. [And without another word she turned heel to run back into the battle, already pulling her shield off her back.]

For a few moments, all she can do is stare in startled awe at Nerva as she's whisked away from danger. But then Fate cries out, and Nerva doesn't slow, but Beleth can feel the tension in the other woman. It's a testament to Nerva's formidable will that she keeps forging on ahead until Beleth is deposited behind a fallen tree.
The elf just quietly nodded as Nerva yelled, then ran off, leaving Beleth still somewhat confused and alone, but safe. She spends a few moments trying to crane her head to see over the tree, but gives up, sighing and resting against the trunk. She'd just have to sit there and hope everyone else pulled it off. And didn't, yanno, all horribly die while she was taking a tea break.
Damn, she could use some tea. And alcohol. A lot of alcohol. ]
