OPEN

It's been an eventful time in the Inquisition, and even though he's not been in any field missions -- nor does he really intend to be anytime soon -- there's enough that goes on in Skyhold for anyone to be preoccupied. Whether it's damned mage terrorists hanging around being smug dicks, or a random bizarre illness sweeping over the residents because of weird-as-fuck armor, nothing stays quiet for long.

One day, shit will stop being weird and he'll go back to Antiva or something.

That'll be the day.

But today, specifically, Alejandro is working away, focused on a crafting what seems to be a little soldier figurine of sorts. The figurine is clamped in his prosthetic arm while his real hand is working on the finer details.

Which is true enough. After working on Zevran's request and several bumps in the road, he's developed some things he feels fairly proud of to share. That, and a little something for Zevran himself, if he wants it.

As far as he's concerned, Korrin's always going to be welcome in the Undercroft. Technically, everyone is, but she's never annoyed or aggravated him, so that's always a plus.

"What, this?" Alejandro glances over the figurine, then sighs and unclamps it from his prosthetic. "Old hobby, I guess. My cousin used to collect stuff like this back when we lived in Antiva."

He shrugs and puts it aside. "You got something y'need made, Korrin?"

"I used to collect them, too, had entire figurine armies destroyed by dragons or sieges or whatever. Fun times. Later ones I treated better, but I gave them away before joining up with my company." There's only so much she can take with her on the road, and unfortunately figurine collections aren't essential.

Thinking over the question, Korrin shrugs. "Nothing urgent, but I should get a new staff strap, as mine's wearing out. That and I know we're going west at some point, so I'll need lighter armor for when we hit the desert. I figured it couldn't hurt to mull over options while things are quiet."

"Probably a smart idea. I was more cemented in Kirkwall, so he had time to start pickin' them up again. Well, until the big fuckin' bang. Didn't have a whole lot much after that."

Complaining about Anders is an old time habit, but Alejandro has begrudgingly accepted that there is nothing that he can do about it anytime soon. More importantly, they have to focus on some ancient magister that thinks he's a god or some shit, so there's that.

"Oh yeah? I could help you out with that. I'm not a fashion consultant or anything," he says dryly, remembering the ridiculous Orlesians that were compiled in the Undercroft for the soiree. "But I can set you up with some decent armor that won't get you overheated."

Korrin nods sympathetically at mention of Kirkwall, never not disgusted with Anders and what happened there. However, she's also in the same state of resignation. If he stirs up trouble or fucks with anyone she cares about, the ranting will come. But until then, she has a life.

She snorts in amusement and rolls her eyes at 'fashion consultant', her mind likewise flashing back to that month of snobbery and fine silks. "I don't give a nug's ass about fine fashion, just something that can reasonably protect me without the overheating problem. If it can give my kadan some eye-candy, that's a bonus but not strictly necessary."

"Eye-candy and practical are kinda hard to pull off, but I think I can make it work." The smith looks a bit thoughtful. "Important thing is makin' sure you're protected-- and you got airflow. Hope you don't mind wearing a bunch of white, too."

But based on her previous wardrobe arrangements, Alejandro suspects that's not going to be a problem.

"Lay off the leather, more silk. Shit's more durable than most people think. Let you know what I come up with. We got time."

Korrin nods thoughtfully, definitely taking into account his suggestions. The eye-candy aspect isn't as important anyway, but she won't say no if he does manage to pull it off. "White and silk...I can definitely work with that. Good advice, Alejandro. Now I'm glad I decided to kill time by wandering here first. I'm thinking of getting some runes made, too, but the armor is a higher priority."

Runes are more enhancement than anything else, at least the elemental ones. A definite possibility, though, especially if she can get her hands on the more potent recipes. But the arcanist isn't currently present, so it can wait.

"Hey, what else am I good for if I can't give you some practical advice on how to wander a fuckin' desert?" he muses, cracking a grin. "But if you want runes done, Dagna's your girl. I'm no arcanist, personally. Wouldn't say no to learning how to pull it off, though. Probably needs two working hands, I guess."

In the mean time, he can wish he knew. Runes are damned interesting.

"I'll work on some ideas for you in the meantime. Pretty sure we still got your measurements somewhere down here."

"Yeah, I'll pester Dagna soon, when I know what I want there." Maybe a dragon-slaying one, so Araceli wouldn't be so worried the next time...but in the long run, it wouldn't be nearly as helpful as one which could counter more numerous enemies. Oh well, she'll figure it out later.

"Thanks...and hey, when you're tired of hanging around here, come join me at the tavern. I've been introducing a new guy to Wicked Grace and it's about time I showed him just how intense it can get. I've been nice long enough." Betting on how fast newbies will lose their clothes is a productive use of time, right?

"Shit, I'm always down for a hard drink and embarrassing new guys." That earns a short laugh. "You sure you want an Antivan to play?"

Korrin grins and nods without hesitation. "Hell yes, I do. It'll keep me on my toes. I'd rather have that than go soft because I keep getting sidetracked with showing people the ropes. Give me a challenge, Alejandro. I mean it."

"All right, all right. Just thought I'd warn ya. Knowing Wicked Grace in Antiva is like Fereldens worshipping dogs, you know."

That said, it's nice to do something light for once. He can't remember the last time he had something friendly to do.
