They've kept to the same clearing as the last, because the location's good. Far enough away that no one could stumble upon them by accident, near enough in case something went seriously wrong, it works.
He has scarcely more hope this time than he did the last, but at least there's no singing involved. This can't go as strangely. In theory.

How'd it go? ...no songs today, I hope.

[ And Adelaide shall remain forever vexed until she can pick out the why. ]

[Sina pauses, then comes to sit down across from Adelaide.]
What kind of truth? Is everyone all right?

[ She settles back with the cup of wine, offering an exhausted grimace to Sina. ]
No one is dead or on fire- but this is- I told you I am not accustomed to such difficulties. I am less accustomed to failure. Once was a fluke but this? The rituals should not have turned back upon us like this. They should have worked or done nothing. I am not certain if there is a missing variable or if I am scrambling for a reason I have failed that does not put the blame on my own shoulders.

Is that difficult for you? [she asks, playfully. She'd hardly peg Adelaide as someone who holds back from speaking her mind.
Her face falls when the woman starts demeaning herself, however, and she extends one thin hand to rest on Adelaide's.]
The first mistake was as much mine as it was yours-- I misdirected everyone on pronouncing Ancient Tevene. As for this one... I wasn't there, but nothing has been guaranteed to work. We're shooting in the dark.
[She smiles again, more sympathetically.]
There's no failure until you give up. Which I don't think you're going to do.

[ So, yes. ]
All this means is I must not make any attempts to be diplomatic or manage any politics or Mage Council business until this is over.
[ Having to sit and smile and nod and assure everyone that everything will be fine is difficult when you do not know that for certain. And now she cannot lie about it. ]
A misdirection that came from my mistranslation. I ought to have checked it again. I ought to have asked Dorian to look it over.

Our fault, together. Not yours. You aren't responsible for my mispronunciations. [She's not going to budge on this.] ...and it's over now, so all we can do is move forward.

[ She manages a weary half smile. ] They only become more dangerous from this point forward. I think I am going to have to plan for failure and that bothers me more than I would normally admit.
