They've kept to the same clearing as the last, because the location's good. Far enough away that no one could stumble upon them by accident, near enough in case something went seriously wrong, it works.

He has scarcely more hope this time than he did the last, but at least there's no singing involved. This can't go as strangely. In theory.

Aaaah no we shouldn't do that, Marian would kill me if I put us both into danger! Well not actually kill - she'd just do that look she gives Carver when he's being an annoying brat but in a disappointing way and it looks just like Mother.

You know my sister isn't dead. I know I should doubt because everyone else does and they don't want to say anything - but I would know if Marian was dead. Just like I would know Carver was dead. Just like how I knew Mother was dead before they told me. I hated Marian and Carver then - but I hated myself more for not being there to protect her.
