Let No Soul Hunger For Justice: Suddenly... Demons!

WHO: Anders, Adelaide, Bethany, Hermione, Ingrid, Jamie, Kaisa, Kirk, Nathaniel, Solas
WHAT: Binding a spirit has to go better than anything else has.
WHEN: TJustinian 5th
WHERE: Location
NOTES: Plotting post is here, warning for violence, there will be no tag order.

The atmosphere as they head out this time is a little more tense, but they're headed for the same place because the chance that it's some sort of cursed location would be far too convenient excuse and therefore it's been entirely dismissed.

At least the day isn't too chilly. Relatively speaking. For the mountains in the south.

His nose scrunched and he opened his mouth to protest, not liking being talked about like he wasn't even there. Except he was, and he was having trouble sorting the words or making words form on his tongue. He forced his eyes open through the haze, making himself focus up at Anders.

"Is glyph a way of saying you're going to send me more cats?" he grunted, trying for a bit of humor in the situation, though it came out forced and in a shallow breath. He was beginning to feel better, at least, so whatever they were doing was working. "Don't let me give me more cats, Hermoine."

Hermione nods immediately at Anders' instructions, scooting closer to Kirk and seeking out a wound she can likely touch without aggravating it. It seems like something of a lost cause, and so she presses her hands against a spot on his torso, too flustered over his well-being to be as skittish around blood as she ordinarily might be.

She doesn't know why Kirk starts going on about cats, or at least she doesn't make the link right away. But he's still talking, and it sounds as though he isn't being serious, so she'll take it all as a good sign. "You just lie there and hold on. Pets are good for your health anyway, so we'll get you back to Skyhold and you can recuperate with cats. It's therapeutic."

He knew Anders was just playing with him, but the briefest moment in his blood deprived brain he thought he was being serious and a spark of true terror shot through him. It subsided quickly though, his mind to loose and wobbly to hold onto it for long as he concentrated on staying awake.

"Cats' tongues are like sandpaper," he grunted in reply, because that seemed a logical argument. "And they don't play fetch. The knock stuff over. Rude. Cats are rude." Keep talking, Kirk, keep yourself awake, even if what you're saying is nonsense.

Careful to keep her hands only where Anders explicitly directs her, Hermione tries not to be too amused at the thought of Kirk being pinned down by kittens. It's a silly thing, but really, maybe they could all use a bit of silliness after what had just transpired. Though it still feels far too soon and the wounds feel much too raw for them to be silly just yet.

"Cats can be very loving if you give them a chance, Kirk," she murmured softly, hoping that Anders' magic was doing more than simply healing superficial wounds. "And besides, dogs can be troublemakers, too. Have you ever played with an overly happy mabari? They can tear a home to shreds in their excitement and think they're doing it out of love."

"It's not fair to gain up on a wounded man," he groaned, resisting the urge to throw a rude gesture at Anders for the hell of it - or maybe it was more like he simply didn't have the energy for it.

"Cats don't do respect, they tolerate," he countered Anders before doing as he asked. It ached in a distant sort of way, like a sore muscle after a workout, but wasn't outright painful. He wouldn't have trouble breathing, and he didn't feel the need to cough, nor did his breaths sound wet to his own ears.

"Good job. I think I'll leave," he huffed, reaching up to weakly pat at Anders. "But I think I might need a nap first." Damn, but fighting spirits or whatever the hell they were took it out of you.

So long as they keep talking and Kirk keeps responding, he should be all right at the end of this. That's the only thing that keeps Hermione focused on their strained conversation rather than on the way Kirk's body seems to be knitting itself beneath the influence of Anders' magic.

For what it's worth, though, Kirk seems to be doing better, or at least out of immediate danger. Looking up at Anders to make sure that she's right in surmising as much, she tells him, "I can keep badgering him about cats while he dozes off, if you think he can handle that much excitement." Which is to say, so long as Anders is sure that Kirk isn't about to die, he can go and take care of anyone else who might need help while Hermione lets Kirk get a few minutes' sleep while they all gather themselves up.

He grunted hid assent that he did, looking towards Hermoine and giving her a little twist of a smile. "Don't worry, I've recovered from much worse than this. Without the healing powers of purring," he said, this one aimed more at Anders for a last little jab, because that was exactly wha this situation needed, right? That's what his brain said, but then again, he had lost quite a bit of blood, so what did his brain know?

Seeing the frown on Anders' face makes her worry, but that nod makes her breathe a small sigh of relief as she absently accepts the waterskin from him. "Don't overexert yourself," she whispers to him, deciding that she'll have to check in on Anders after the more immediate threats have died down.

Looking down at Kirk, she tries to gently slip a hand under him, meaning to carefully prop him up so he can have a drink. "Can you sit up? It's best to try and manage it now, before I end up being forced to cast a Full Body-Bind on you. I'm sure you can figure out what that does, too."

"Did you figure out your magic?" Kirk asked Hermoine, because that's the first thing he can think of - that she was having trouble.

Even light headed as he is, he nods to her and begins to sit up slowly, waving her off.

"I'll be okay. Give me a few minutes and I can handle myself. Go help," he said, already feeling a bit more lucid though he was in need of some orange juice and a cookie. "I'll be okay," he smiled at her faintly, still pale, but did indeed look like he was recovering gamely enough.

"Don't worry about my magic right now," she murmured gently, shifting behind Kirk to brace him if he falters. Handing him the water, she kept her attention focused on him until she was able to surmise that he did indeed seem to be doing well enough. She still didn't observe the others around her, though. She felt bad enough for getting out of this virtually unscathed, comparatively speaking, so at least taking care of Kirk gives her something to focus on.

Hand on his back, she began breathing a little bit easier as she told him, "Anders and Adelaide can help the others more than I can at the moment. Let me help where I can."
