I. Training Circle
Heaving the maul up on his shoulder, Taas grins a little bit as he steps out of the ring. That had been a pretty good fight, and he's pretty certain the soldier would remember to keep his balance with a large weapon this time.
Rolling his neck a bit, the big warrior limbers up a bit before reaching to grab the mug of ale by the side, taking a drink from that before he turns back. "Anyone else?"
II. Sign Language 101
The warrior isn't sure how the little lessons in sign language he had given Cyril and Sam now seemed both common knowledge but gaining interest from other people. It makes him a little bit awkward as he tries to explain the difference between spoken words and the way sign language worked for what felt like the umpteenth time.
He was happy, really. It made his life a lot easier, and if he expanded it, it could even give the troops a way to communicate silently with something more detailed than hand signals. At other times, he's pretty certain they only want an excuse to flirt with him.
"So... why do you want to learn this?" He asks, brown eyes studying the new arrival.
III. Tavern
Taas doesn't spend as much time in the tavern as he used to, but when he does come in to drink and have a good time, he allows himself to completely relax and set everything else aside. With booze, music and friends, he could bury the events of the last missions far back in his head and instead just enjoy the moment.
Catch up with friends, meet new people, pick up someone for the night.
Afterwards, he either went home with that somebody or walked out alone in the courtyard, buzzed and smiling as he looked up into the sky. Skyhold really had a beautiful night sky even with the torches and braziers going, and the sound from the tavern - song and laughter - settled his body and mind into something worthy of his name.
Calm.
IV. Wildcard!

He continues to help her through a few more signs, taking it slow and a bit exaggerated to make it easier pick up the movements. Speaking with someone who fully knew sign was a mess of quick signs in rapid succession, but that taught nobody.
"Think you can put some together for a sentence?"

The warrior looks quite pleased, however. "Good topic, too. I wish I could see that." Or, you know. Any dragon. He just wants to fight a dragon, okay?
"Do you need a break? There's some water and fruit in the corner."

"I'm willing to keep going, if you are. It seems like I've put this off for long enough, so I want to learn all I can while you have the time to spare."
no subject
However, he just has to personalize it a bit for Korrin. Because she's definitely worth that, and it's easy to learn when it's about something you love.
"...this is 'horn'," he says and shows her the sign. "So it I sign 'dragon' 'horn' and 'take', I want you to grab the dragon's horn. If you sign that to me, I know what to do no matter how loud she is."
no subject
Korrin nods, focusing on repeating 'horn' and 'take' since she already knows 'dragon' by heart. "Hm, what about 'dragonlings'? You know how they swarm out whenever their mother does that awful screech of hers. It could be useful to know for purposes of how many or where they're coming from or something."
no subject
Even easier with a friend.
"Dragonlings? That's a pretty cute one. You do 'dragon' and 'baby'." He shows the signs while saying it, and then laughs. "Almost makes you forget that they are vicious little fuckers, right?"

It stunned everyone else, but to him it would probably just be a hum.

She flashes a grin, then looks thoughtful. "Is there a word for 'shapeshifter'? Some of my friends have gotten into that, and I get paranoid that they'll get mistaken for trouble before they can shift back."
no subject
He really wants to punch a dragon okay.
"Shapeshifter? Yeah, I suppose you could string something together out of 'shape' and 'change'." Taas tries it out and then nods. It wasn't something he had used before, but it felt right. "Any bears out there I shouldn't throttle?"
no subject
"Ah...Sam, maybe? And Twisted Fate, I know that for sure. Ellana has a pretty badass honey badger thing going, too. It's always the nice ones that get underestimated."
no subject
New kinds of magic still made him a little bit uncomfortable, though. Where were the limits of magic? Did it even exist?
"They should start wearing scarves or something before someone gets accidentally hurt.... and shit, honey badger? Those things are vicious."

A dragon, though... he's a little bit disappointed to hear that, honestly. "Well, that's just not fair. You'd be a great dragon." The easiness of their banter does take the edge of his weird feelings off a little bit, and he's grateful for her little nudge.

It came with the warrior thing.
