"I think that one's for me to decide on, actually." She says Adelaide is special, and she means it... even if she was being a tiny bit obnoxious.

And, hey. Her smile is mortified in a good humoured way as she covers her face with her hands. "Please forget all about that. That shouldn't be anyone's first impression of Madonna." Her hands drop back to her lap. "I was going to show you th team schnapps, actually. For the snow thing?"

"You will have to give me a proper impression some time in the future." It was certainly spirited music, something she could appreciate. Along with the dancing.

"Ah- you have finished them already?" Excellent. "You never did tell me what flavors you had in mind for violet and periwinkle. Apricot and Raspberry are fairly straightforward."

"I was hoping that maybe instead we could never speak of it again, actually." So bright, so hopeful.

Ruby pushes herself up from her seat, and wanders to a cabinet with a broken door. "Not sure if they're perfect, but hopefully they're not toxic."

For the record, she turns to quirk a smile at Adelaide, "Apricot and raspberry were a little too easy. I mixed it up, some."

"Oh, no. I intend to ask after it in the future." Just you wait, Ruby. Just you wait.

"...hopefully? That does not entirely inspire confidence-" She says, entirely confident they aren't poisonous.

Fairly confident.

She trusts Red not to intentionally kill anyone, atl east. "Now I am curious. What do we have?"

Ugh. Ugh. "I probably deserve that," she admits, shaking her head with false woe.

Excuse her as she manages to scoop up six bottles, inspecting them carefully to double check what's what - these aren't the only things she's working on. "I made a couple of different versions of stuff, just in case. And if they're awful then I guess no one ever has to know."

Apologising in advance, as she wanders back and sets the first bottle in front of Adelaide. Team Violet, one could deduce based on the colour. "Blueberry. But actually with some violet as well, and a little bit of vanilla. It's... hopefully you like it? It's kind of a sweeter schnapps, I guess, but uh. Yeah."

The color is- quite pleasing, actually. And that is the most important place to start. Not cloudy, vibrant- she is already somewhat impressed. Taking a small glass from the table she uncorks it and pours herself a measure, the aroma of violet and vanilla a pleasant surprise.

"To experiments." She toasts Ruby before taking a sip. Sweet, yes, but not cloyingly so. The floral notes rest well and it is quite good, the blueberry providing a nice tartness. "This is excellent. And dangerous."

"To experiments," Ruby echoes, mouth quirking a little before she shakes her head almost imperceptibly. To experimentation would have probably made her splutter, and then she'd have to explain, and thank God they both avoided that mortifying conversation.

For a moment she's... well, nervous wouldn't be quite the right word. Apprehensive? Ruby waits for Adelaide's judgment before trying it for herself.

"'Excellent and dangerous' are probably going to be fitting words for your team," she replies, amused. "I'm glad you like it." Not least because neither violets, blueberries or vanilla were particularly easy or cheap to get hold of, and represented a series of kitchen bribes she was going to be paying back for a while. Admittedly she'd pay off a bit of it with some of the schnapps itself, but even so.

"Please tell me you wrote down the recipe because this? This would make back the cost of production quickly." And she might want a case for herself but that can wait until later. She none too subtly corks the bottle and tugs it closer to her side of the table all the same.

Red's not getting it back. Sorry.

"What else do you have?"

"Please," Ruby protests, good natured. "I made notes. So many notes." She nods to her desk, the organised chaos. "I've got the recipe but I might not be above using my exclusive knowledge to my benefit."

Can she use team schnapps denial to win a snow fight? Who knows.

"Well... let's see. Which team do you want to try next?"

"If, perhaps, you got the means to someone that knew a fair distributor of liquors and had a stock in the trade..." She gestures to herself. It's good to have connections now and then. "Sold exclusively by the Inquisition, a fair portion going to yourself and perhaps to a fund to provide shelter, clothing, and comforts to your fellow rifters as the rest covers cost of production?"

"Periwinkle." Because if blueberry was used for violet- what would she have for the actual blue team?

"Oh."

She's stunned, honestly. "Uh, yeah. I mean, that... that sounds great." She's touched, actually, gaze dropping for a moment before she looks back to Adelaide with a little smile. "You think it's good enough for that?"

Anyway, uh. Mild stomach knots aside, Ruby shakes herself a little and picks up a bottle that is a clear, beautifully pale blue. "I sort of cheated. Clear schnapps plus a dye made from cornflowers. Anyway, Obi-Wan is super cool, so I thought something kind of refreshing but not totally obvious, so... apple and elderflower."

"I certainly do. There is nothing quite like this available in the Tavern, nor in most of Orlais. Otherwise I would have heard of it- my mother is something of a lush." Following in mother's footsteps, it seems, even if she picked up the habit with Dorian.

"Apple and- oh, that would be a lovely combination, wouldn't it?" And the color! Adelaide pours herself a measure, sipping it slowly. "...I am going to need a bottle of this as well. For research purposes. I hope you understand."

"Unlike you," she replies, mouth tugging into a smile. "Granny is a big, big fan of schnapps. She is very proud of her schnapp making, too. I guess we're both carrying on legacies."

Teasing, so much teasing. Ruby huffs, then, a surprised laughed. "It's all yours. I can give you one of each, if you want?"

"I would appreciate that." She could share them with Dorian and feel slightly less guilty for drinking them.

Slightly.

"What else do you have? I am both curious and now quite excited to taste the rest."

With a bit of a grin, Ruby moves from her crate. Her stride is long with a slight swing to it, and it means she crosses the limited space quickly, grabbing a little wicker basket, raising it up triumphantly as she returns. "Maybe we can pretend you're less lush if we hide it all in a basket."

On that note, she grabs a little bundle of rags, all clean, but torn up for polishing and cleaning in turn, before she slides back onto the crate and sets out the rest of the bottles, tapping and labelling them as she goes. "Butterscotch for Goldenrod. Knight Commander Norrington seems like a good guy, and it is a very popular flavour back home. Chocolate-mint for Seafoam. I mean, obviously mint's green and all, but it kind of seemed to fit how... intense? Seeker Pentaghast is. Orange and cinnamon for Apricot, largely because actual apricot would be too easy, and cinnamon because..." And here she laughs at herself, "because Warden Constable Blackwall makes me think of a giant teddy bear and cinnamon and teddy bears are both cuddle and warm, so." There you go.

"And that just leaves the winning team."

As each is tapped Adelaide serves herself a small glass. The flavors are clear and clean and the color of each is nothing short of lovely. That Ruby has managed this only doubles her confidence in offering her this equipment. A side project such as this would do well for the Rifters- and for the Inquisition should they require a cut.

She doubts it but every possible avenue for gold cannot hurt.

"He does seem a bit like a bear, doesn't he? I do not know if it is the padded armor, the voice, or the beard." Oh ho, the winning team now, is it? Adelaide sits back with an arched brow, lips twisted in wry amusement. "You are terribly confident for someone that does not know with whom I will be matched."

The comment about Blackwall makes her laugh. "All of the above. I think the voice most of all, though. He wouldn't sound like a teddy bear if he was all snooty, or something."

Probably it's wrong to describe a senior member of a warrior order as being similar to a stuffed animal, huh? Oh well, she'll find a way to live with herself.

"Well, I mean, you won't have me on your team." A shrug, ultra relaxed. "You're clearly screwed." But, she picks it up, and pours a glass for both of them. "Raspberry, strawberry and rosewater."

"Terribly presumptuous." But she accepts the glass all the same, trying to keep a straight face as she ships it. She doesn't succeed, surprise and appreciation slip past before she can lock it down, peering critically into her glass. "Mmhmm."

The appreciation is appreciated. Ruby's smile? Infuriating might be a good word for it.

"Sadly," she starts, not remotely sad at all, not even if you squint, "there's not enough for me to give you a bottle of this one."

"...what will it cost me, Red?" She will pay and she will overpay if she must. This is far too fine a thing to be deprived of simply due to a little friendly animosity.

Leaning forward, and with a dramatic pause: "Half your flags."

Keep a straight face, keep a straight face, keep a straight face—

"...that is hardly fair." Hardly fair and yet she is still considering it long enough to tap a finger against the table. "A third."

"Adelaide. I was kidding, I'm not going to coerce you with booze. Whatever you want? All yours."

Ruby included. I mean, nothing.

"Good, I intend to take at least half of your teams." She says, tugging the bottle back for another glass.

"Except," she adds, with a primness that doesn't even suit her a little bit, "my flags." A beat, and she amends, "my team's flags."

But she grins and nudges her glass towards Adelaide so it can get a refill, too.
