WHO: Cyril and Sam
WHAT: Cy doesn't know about Sam's dog form. He thinks he's talking to a stray about something he hasn't shared with anyone.
WHEN: Um, sometime? That fits in? With everything going on... /whistles.
WHERE: Just outside of Skyhold
NOTES: Cy is dumb. Also this gets to be very NSFW towards the end.

Cyril had been pulled away from his stall in the courtyard to help some pilgrims who's cart broke on the road up here. It had broken his routine and gotten him outside of the castle. After everything was settled and the pilgrims were safe inside the walls, he had lingered outside.

He was starting to forget how much he enjoyed not being surrounded by crafted stone. Out here it was cold, and there was snow, and mountains, but he was alone and not cooped up.

He found a nice place that got some decent sunlight and sat. Now that he was completely by himself he pulled a silver ring from deep within his pocket and examined it, turning it over in his hands. This ring had belonged to Sam. Cyril had slipped it off his finger the first night they had met. Usually he'd sell such a thing, but he had kept this one and hadn't told anyone he had it.

Not even Merrick knew about it. Now that he thought no one could see him he could take it out and enjoy the shape of it.

That seems to be enough for Sam to get where Cyril is going, and while he doesn't out right turn red, there is a bit of coloring to his cheeks. Or it could be the cold. Who know.

"Putting your fingers in the forge is not fun, Cyril." That's what they're talking about right?

Cyril laughed a bit and then leaned up and kissed Sam's cheek before pulling away. He clearly thinks that Sam is far too cute for his own good, and is enjoying that they can openly be affectionate now. "I should head back to the castle. Did you want to run around on your paws a bit more? Or come with me?"

He hardly tries to cover the lopsided grin that's on his face now, though it lessens a bit as he tilts his head at the questions, considering the offer. Looking at his hands he gives a shrug. "Think I've practiced enough for today." So that's a yes for coming along. "Why do you need to head to the castle?"

"Because there's a tavern there and fire and much less snow," Cyril responds easily, smiling. "Did you want to join me?"

"What? You seemed to really like snow during the snowball fight." Speaking of snowball fights and taverns. "Your team won that, right?" he asks, moving to stand next to Cyril as they start to walk.

"We did," Cyril said, chuckling a bit. "And mostly I liked cuddling to warm up after the snowball fight."

Sam hums lightly at that, seemingly both happy for Cyril and not at all glad about the win at the same time. "So that's where you disappeared to do after the fight?" He's more than certain that Cyril had ended up with Taas after that.

"I had to make sure I didn't freeze off my fingers someway," he teases a bit. "And just think, if they had, I wouldn't be able to make naughty jokes with you about using them to, uh, simulate you."

He really thought Cyril was going to go with something about rings with that, but nope, right into the gutter. The chill air is not really covering up the blush now, bringing a hand up to cover his mouth a bit as he clears his throat a bit. "They're just jokes?"

"I suppose they aren't anymore, are they?" Cyril asks. "Not that we've both admitted to wanting to each other naked. There's no point to not do that."

There is some temptation to just mess around with Cyril's words, but decides against it - for the time being. "I mean, I wouldn't mind the teasing still... as long as it isn't just teasing."

Cyril pauses and moves closer to Sam. He all but presses against him. "It isn't," he says, his tone as suggestive as he can make it. "It never really was."

Sam physically swallows at that, tongue poking out to wet his lips again as he looks down at Cyril. "Would have been good to have known before..." A lot of nights tossing and turning with being flirted with but having that huge 'just friends' thing over his head.

Cyril nods a bit, agreeing. "I know," he says. He takes Sam's hand. "Come on, let's go."

The smile on his face is large as he feels the slight chill to Cyril's hand from being outside as he's pulled along, letting his fingers squeeze back. "Where to first?"

Cyril raises his brow a bit. "A private room, or the tavern?" he asks, letting Sam make the choice.

"I'd say the tavern first, but you don't drink." He doesn't drink much himself, but he's learning to enjoy having one every once in a while. "Unless you want tea to warm you up."

"I would think that you could warm me up just as easily," he says after a moment, offering Sam a small smirk.

"No arguments there, but still different." He lets out an amused huff, running his free hand through his hair. "So I guess no point in going to the tavern." Suppose that left the private room.

"Your room or mine?" Cyril asks then. "We don't... We don't have to rush into anything. We can just relax."

Sam slows for just a second, looking down to Cyril amusingly. "How private is your room? Don't you still share with Merrick?" Who probably will try and kick his ass. "No, we don't have to do anything, but I'm not going to say 'no' if it does go in that direction." Honestly he's been so used to just being around Cyril and not doing anything that it might take a little time easing into it.

That offer does an odd thing to Cyril. He feels weirdly nervous in a way that he isn't entirely used to and has no idea where it came from. "I do, but he should be out." As long as Cyril cleaned up after them, it should be okay. It was weird to think of offering it though. Usually he was so careful to keep men out of his and Merrick's space.

He's talking about the offer rather calmly but it does sound a bit unusual to him. When they were just friends Cyril never invited him to the room unless Merrick was sick or there was something specific they were working on. Something like this-

"We can just go to my loft then. Kirk is accustomed to you being there, and I know he'll be out for a while." If nothing happened then no issues when the man showed up, but they did it would be easy enough to put up their signaled item for privacy.

Cyril smiles at that idea. He's very comfortable in Sam's space, and Kirk had proven to very fun. "How is that arrangement going? You and Kirk, I mean."

"Having Kirk as a roommate? It's been going quite well. We're both enjoying the arrangement - least I haven't heard any complaints." Quite the opposite really. "Hm, well maybe there was one when we first got the cats."
