[Personal Quarters]
Felix spends most of his time in the quarters assigned to him. Some days he finds it hard to walk around much, as the dizziness gets to him. Healers are welcome, as are servants and friends. He keeps the place very clean, worried that somehow the treatments will stop working. He knows the Inquisition is taking a risk having him here and he does everything he can to stop the possibility of spreading the Blight. That includes staying tidy and burning sheets after a fever.
It also means cutting his own hair. The problem is that he has issues holding his arms up for that long. They start to tire and he gives up making the cuts straight or even. He's not trying to make a fashion statement, after all.
[Library]
When he is out of his room, he spends most of his time in the library. Obviously, part of that is that Dorian is there. Being around his friend feels like the way he wants to spend his last days. He had thought going home and trying to help the cause of the Inquisition would have been important, but this feels more right personally.
When Dorian isn't around, he spends his time reading. He enjoys learning about Southern history and can also be seen pouring over any new mathematical theories. It makes him realize how much he misses going to university.
[Garden]
Sometimes he's told he needs to 'get fresh air' and that prompts him to go out and sit at the garden. It's still so lovely to see what a well placed hot spring can do even in the middle of a frozen mountain. The air is still thin and frigid, nothing like what he might have back home, but there's something wonderful about the peace that one can find surrounded by the right amount of trees.

"Oh, I'm not certain. There's another Tevinter here who easily takes most of the focus."

The blush is, of course, adorable, and it makes Gavin's grin widen.
"Dorian, you mean?" He'd already met the mage, and well - he couldn't really argue that.
"Point taken, but I'm sure you could give him a run for his money. Are you suggesting that we set up a competition?"

Perhaps not all of Felix's feelings about Dorian were platonic, but it wasn't as if anything would come of that.

Gavin grinned widely, a twinkle in his eye. "Well that I can agree with."
Seriously though, is there anyone who knows Dorian who's feelings about him are strictly platonic? With that mustache? No. No there aren't.
"Fine, no contest, but I promise you could give him a run for his money anyway. I'll just hold a secret contest. For myself."

"Oh?" Gavin asked, frowning, but then something clicked in the back of his head, about the mission. About the crazy Tevinter, and why he was dealing with time magic--
He had the decency to shamefully blush. "Oh. Right. I forgot. Now now, don't be like that. I'm sure you'll still be handsome. But if you're really worried about it, we should get them to paint you a shamelessly flattering portrait now and we can just judge based on that."

"Well a statement like that can't be made without evidence," Gavin replies easily, the grin spreading across his lips to replace the blush. "I'm supposed to be doing a tally, you know, I really should have a better idea of what needs to be exaggerated."

It's not exactly true. Felix is barely more than skin and bones and that doesn't make him feel very sexy. He doesn't mind the flirting though, and doesn't want Gavin to feel rejected outright.

"You can at least pull up your sleeve," Gavin replies, teasing him. "But I will submit to Northern delicacy and leave it up to the imagination of the portrait painter, I suppose."
He leans back against the bookshelf.
"Though that is a good question. I've never really been that far north - is it really that much warmer?"

He sighs a little dreamily. "What I wouldn't do to be actually warm after living down here for so long. The Free Marches are much more temperate than this, at least. But I've already been warned off galavanting around Tevinter. Antiva maybe? I hear it's nice there..."
Was he getting distracted? Yes. Yes he was.

"Not a lot of places are known for being the kindest to the Dalish, but I admit that Tevinter has a rougher reputation than most," Gavin replied with a teasing lilt to his voice. He tilted his head, smiling. "You think there's a chance of that changing in my life time?"
He asked more out of curiousity about Felix than about Tevinter itself.

"It will not be an easy path."

The smile that he gave Felix then was a warm, honest one. Not because he believed in the cause - in truth, he had few opinions about Tevinter, but plenty about humans in general, and he wasn't totally sure that anything would go the way it should, ever, for any reason. But it was nice to see one so wholly committed to changing his world for the better. It was refreshing.
It reminded him of the Inquisitor.
"No, it won't," he agreed cheerfully. "But I'm just glad someone's willing to travel down it."
