Being possessed of the incredibly informed opinion most not!Orlesians have of Orlais when they've only ever visited and spoken mostly to people wearing silly hats, Lex is more than comfortable with his first forays into the Inquisition taking place in Skyhold and not Halamshiral. That's where he's ultimately most useful anyway; he suffers no illusions regarding any diplomatic capabilities that don't involve ensnaring largeish globs of money.

The day side ....globbage occurs, however, is not this day or, nor is it whatever other days this log ends up involving. No, instead here we are in Skyhold, where Lex's general occupancy encompasses the following:

Lex is just hella intuitive. Said his narrative as the Earth's molten core cracked right open. "What didn't, would be the shorter list."

...although. "That does come in near the top."

Yeah, it was the glowing shard. Anyway, now they're being dry at each other! What a great way to make friends. Really. Sincerely. Which means Lex will probably do something awkward any minute now.

She waves the fingers of the affected hand, in a guilty as charged motion.

"You're either not in the 'Rifters are demons' camp or very nonchalant about demons," she observes, light. She's not quite sure what to make of his demeanor yet, but she's not disengaging.

"I'm not a mage," he points out, shrugging. "So possession doesn't pose a problem, and as far as I can tell beyond that demons die when you cut their heads off, just like anything else."

...it would be great if that were bravado, but it's just. Someone was in line for exceptionally nice hair when other people were being handed sane fear responses. He also apparently just doesn't realize how much that sounds like if push came to shove he'd just cut her head off to be on the safe side. Fortunately (....fortunately??) he goes on to clarify, however inadvertently. "I don't think Rifters are demons. If you were surely you'd have done something other than 'look frequently bemused' before this."

Like. Hopefully. Not that demons are all that known for their organizational prowess.

She tilts her head at him, then says mildly, "Where I'm from, it's kinda bad manners to cut someone's head off in a library. So."

...please don't do that? He doesn't seem likely to, especially given the clarification, but it's hard to tell to what extent (if any) he's kidding.

"I don't know much about demons, but I've seen my genetic structure, so I'm pretty much certain I'm human." ...wait, genetics. Is a thing she will probably need to explain. "I'm Cosima," she adds, rather than go down that rabbit hole farther.
