QUEST: THE ASHES UNDERNEATH HIS NAILS (PART I)

The message had come swiftly, the letter itself hastily written with a shaky hand. The request itself was simple; a plea for help from a village at the outskirts of Emprise du Lion, whose people have been mysteriously disappearing over the last few weeks. Considering the ongoing civil unrest that's still transpiring in Orlais the Inquisition made its decision to send out a team of agents to look into this message and see exactly what was going on.

The eight agents tasked with the mission were given enough time to prepare for the trip ahead. They would all meet up first at the Inquisition camp set within the Emprise and from there travel for about a day until they reached where their destination was - Fromage, a quaint little village that rested at the outskirts of the area.

From that point on, it was up to the agents of the Inquisition to solve this ongoing mystery. The mission: to discover the truth behind these disappearances - and to stop it, if possible.

The Templars can spread out, but so can Inessa's magic. Now that the barrier and hex is up, she'll focus on doing what she does best; conjuring more ice. Blizzard clouds soon gather above, their freezing winds slowing them down. Garahel isn't idle, either. Determined to be a canine shield for his mistress, the large mabari will leap to knock down the nearest one, buying her more time.

Hermione groans audibly as soon as she sees yet more Red Templars. A Gryffindor she might be, but she can go quite some time without ever seeing anything red again, thank you.

She hangs back, not at all confident in her abilities, especially since she's just barely caught her breath from the first fight. If she'd known that that had only been a prelude, she would have opted to walk all the way back to Skyhold and leave all this behind.

But now isn't the time for would haves or for getting a quick breather. There are not one but two Templars headed her way, and it's all she can think to do to quickly cast a Shield Charm in front of her. She can feel it tremble as both Templars hit it, and she knows it won't hold; in fact, one of them recovers from the ricochet of the invisible shield faster than the other and manages to charge forward. Though she'd been trying to keep the more dangerous spells at bay, that clearly isn't an option right now, and so she cries out, "Confringo!" The spell causes a loud, fiery blast as it connects with something, and unfortunately that something is close enough to Hermione that she's forced back by the explosion as well, grunting as she lands hard on her back.

"This is ridiculous." There are so many of them, and while he doesn't want to disrupt what Inessa's doing, his greatest elemental strength is fire.

"I suppose it's time to dance, then." He's mostly talking to himself; running his mouth always makes him feel a little better when he's stressed, and right now there are a lot of large, glowing, red things to feel stressed by, including several closing in.

Anders sends a wave of fire outward, keeping its width contained so as to not threaten any of his allies, but keeping it so much in check means two red Templars get around to attack from the sides and he's left fighting them off with his bladed staff.

This. This is why they should have brought a bunch of muscley, burley swordy types along.
