WHO: Herian Amsel, Leliana, Ruby Lucas & others. WHAT: amusing comment about catch alls here WHEN: throughout September WHERE: various. NOTES: closed threads for the month of September, please don't hesitate to make me if you'd like something with Ruby, Leliana or Herian.
That would be a very slight record scratch moment, Ruby jarring for a moment before looking up at Korrin with a rueful smile. "Is this about to turn into a lecture or interrogation of my intentions?"
She says it lightly, but there's just enough wryness in it that she may not have gotten off totally free in that regard. A second skips by, and Ruby shakes her head, apologetic. "I'm sorry, do you want to sit? I have beer, and everything. More schnapps than beer, but definitely beer." The necklace will be asked about once she's, you know, not being a terrible host.
"Pfft, I don't give lectures unless they're needed. What am I going to say that wouldn't be completely hypocritical?" 'Rifters and natives shouldn't date'? Yeah, tell that to her lovely rifter woman. So she shrugs, not interested in lectures when Adelaide's a friend but also a grown-ass woman who can handle herself.
"And sure, beer is perfect." Ferelden or not, it doesn't really matter. Unless it's beyond qunari levels of strong, she'll manage it just fine. She'll take a seat, knowing it's easier to speak with people when they aren't straining their necks looking up at her.
Ruby can't help a chuckle, at that, shrugging as she eases herself up, rolling her shoulders and moving towards her stash with long, easy strides, taking a moment to look at bottles she has on the racks, head canting to the side.
"Are you a dark ale kinda gal, or do you prefer the lighter stuff?"
Still, she can't help adding, "knowing some of my friends from home? Hypocrisy isn't always the main concern. Sometimes they just like to be, you know. Helpful."
"Oh, dark. Definitely." If it's Fereldan stuff, that's definitely her preference for their brews. The lighter fare usually tastes bland to her. Her lips twitch as she listens to Ruby, nodding wearily. "My company can be like that, too. Thank the Maker they aren't here. Though it's more like they'd use being helpful as an excuse to be enormous trolls. Most of them, anyway."
"Dark it is." She grabs a couple of bottles from the rack, double checking the writing on the labels and carefully clearing off the dust, double checking them before she's satisfied and cracking off the lids with an easy twist of her hands, walking back to Korrin with long, easy strides, holding one of the bottles out for Korrin.
Ruby can't help a little chuckle. "Yeah. Snow and David... they'd want to look out for me." Though, that said, her gaze drops. "They're two of the best, most important people I know, and they might never even know about Adelaide. Kinda sucks."
Taking one of the bottles, Korrin works off the top and takes a swig. "Ah, good stuff." Her expression shifts to one of sympathy at that last part, nodding. "If only there was a way to even send word, you know? I'm sorry. I only have some idea of how that must feel, to be cut off from everything. Araceli writes letters home. I haven't read them, not my business, but it seems to help her somewhat. I'd like to think I'm in them somewhere."
