WAR TABLE: wtf is happening in the anderfels

WHAT: After the situation with the Wardens of Weisshaupt went from bad to worse there has been little coming out of the Anderfels. Time to find out just what is going on.

As it turns out their target is not terribly hard to find. The market in the capital city flourishes compared to the smaller settlements that dot the kingdom with the immediate difference being the presence of both Grey Warden and Tevinter soldiers. Hilde, although meek in appearance, keeps her shoulders squared and head held high among the crowd of warriors.

She clearly carries a grace with her even if she is noticeably followed. Her companion is never far behind and her focus never goes anywhere else. The Tevinter woman ignores every greeting, every distraction and remains utterly focused on the handmaid.

Keeping Garahel back with her for now, Inessa quietly follows along at a distance, doing her best to seem casual. However, she's extremely interested in everything about their walk; where they stop along the way, their ultimate destination, every single person they speak with, if anyone. If she can discern a pattern in their movements, that will be noted for later mention as well. Should she lose sight of them, that's when Garahel will pick up their trail. He sniffs along the way, making sure to keep their scent in mind.

As backup, because Rachette has heard about the noses and intelligence both of mabari, the dwarf follows on a different route. She keeps to side streets, shadowed doorways, even scampers up on a few rooftops while nobody's looking up too much (save for at the dragon, and the people here are starting to get used to resolutely ignoring the dragon for their own perceived safety).

Inessa is trustworthy enough. But still, she doesn't like the thought of leaving any of their Wardens alone in this place in case something happens. This is as much for Inessa as it is for the handmaiden.

There are many stops as Hilde picks up little things here and there. Most curiously is perhaps the trinkets that seem to be made for a child or someone much younger than herself. She carries them until they meet in the town square near a fountain that has been bone dry for some time now and hands them over to Tevinter soldiers who, in turn, offer her what appear to be a child's drawings.

Whatever the case it is enough to put a smile on her face.

The longest of their stops is the city's Chantry where many citizens have filled the space to repeat chants together. Hilde sits not far from the entrance, head bowed and hands together as her companion watches from a corner.

Given the grim circumstances of the city, Inessa's not at all surprised to see so many citizens in the Chantry gathered for prayer. Sincerely hoping that the Maker hears them, she nonetheless keeps her attention on Hilde, departing at the proper time. If Rachette is in sight, Inessa will nonetheless try not to draw attention to her. Their mission is one of stealth, after all.

Chette doesn't hang around in sight of the chantry much. Not that there aren't surface dwarves that have converted, and maybe it'd be a welcome sight, but it might draw too much attention, and besides...not something she wants to get involved in. She'll disappear in and out of view, not wanting to lose sight in case the prayer ends when she's not around, but she's keeping an eye out for ways in and out of the city, too, paths that could be blocked off, the easiest ways around.

The children's playthings and drawings are of the most interest to her. Still in contact, in a way, with the child prince? Or perhaps her own child? The soldiers wouldn't care if it was just some handmaiden's child...
