WHO: Cyril and Kali
WHAT: Cyril suggested that Kali get some trousers to let her climb trees. They try to find a part that suits her.

Cyril had promised he would help Kallian find clothing that would help her climb trees. Planning that trip made him realize that he hadn't fully enjoyed the market place in Val Royeaux yet. His time in the city had been so focused on getting something useful done that a bit of frivolity had fallen through the cracks. He couldn't allow that to last forever.

When he goes to meet Kallian he smiles and the bows a bit before holding out his arm tonight. "Would you like some dashing young man to accompany you?" he asks, in a fake Orlesian accent. He's clearly making fun of the men and women who live here, but it's just the two of them. No one else can oversee it and be offended.

"Well, I want to find you some nice trousers for climbing... Other than that, probably something pretty. I like pretty things." He takes her arm and walks with her towards the marketplace. "You'd look lovely with pretty things too."

She nods, feeling a little giddy and slightly silly--in a good way--to be on Cyril's arm.

"Well, yes," she agrees on the pants, but she turns a little pink at the mention of pretty things. "...I do like them too, but pretty things often cost more than I can afford. The prettiest thing I own is the dress that Madame gave me for the ball last spring. It's fancier than anything I've ever seen on an elf."

"That's one of those things I always thought should be the other way around. Elves should have nice things. We used to have nice things." He frowns a bit, not wanting to get too much into it. "There are elves from other worlds who still do."

She nods again.

"I know some of the stories. I wish it were still true. But... pretty things seem like they might be difficult to care for in the woods, and... unless they're given to you for a reason, in the cities it's suspicious to have them," she muses.

He frowns a bit at that idea. "So they blame elves for being poor and being wanders, and then think we're thieves if we work to have something nice. I think it's a nice revenge to that to have nice things anyway."
