Kingsway Rifter Arrival

WHAT: People fall out of a rift and get attacked by stuff
WHEN: Kingsway 8

You were asleep--deeply or fitfully, for the last time or just resting your eyes for a moment-- and then you were not. And wherever you were was not, anymore, replaced by nothing but the sensation of falling, tumbling into endless, bottomless nothing. If this were still a dream, you would wake before you hit the ground. You can't die in a dream, they say. In some worlds.
In this world, you're plunged down through warm, sticky sea air and full-body into salt water. It's shallow enough to stand and keep your head above the rolling waves--but you'll need to do more than that to live. Overhead, there's a flaring, shifting, green-lit tear in reality. Around you, there are a number of ghastly figures: some float above, hooded and rasping, poised to freeze the sea around you if you don't get out of it quickly enough, while others are spindly monstrosities that burst up from the sand and rocks beneath your feet and scream as they emerge from the water. Whatever arrived with you floats in the waves, slowly pushed toward the shore, or sinks beneath the surface. It may be wisest to leave it for now and collect it when the area is slightly less demon-infested.
To add to your troubles, there's a narrow splinter of light in the same sickly green as whatever brought you here, now glowing out of the palm of your left hand. It aches, a bone-deep pain that gnaws even through all the distractions.
But there's help, on the shore.

Luckily, Corvo has a pointy sword, which is also pretty distracting, so when the demon's attention turns elsewhere, Corvo can bring it right back to himself. Still, he admires that the boy, who clearly hasn't had much training in fighting, is willing to overlook his fear and try. That's where the start of all skill begins, after all. Being willing to try.
The demon is beaten in short order, and Corvo wades to shore. There are more of the monsters, but each seems to have other people handling them at the moment, and he wants to check on the young man. After reaching him, there's a pause, and Corvo finally lifts the mask off his face. ]
Are you alright?

the question earns a small, cautious, weary nod. ] Yes, we believe so. Thank you, we.. were quite overwhelmed. [ and upset and confused and horrified.
ears flattening back a little, he reaches in his robes for the little charm, then offers it back out again. ]
We are, however, quite uncertain how we came to be here.. and we have not seen our nohecharei.

We?
[ He turns back to look at the sea. There are still people there, but they are all fighting, seem to have a handle on the situation. No one that would be called 'overwhelmed', certainly. Which...probably meant that if they were there, they were in trouble. ]
Who else was with you?

[ which had been terrifying. he doesn't want to repeat the experience ever, thank you. he's certain it took years off his life.
he hesitates, struggling with the urge to wring his hands, trying not to let his discomfort show. (he's wet and sandy and uncomfortable, he's lost and confused and unhappy and worried.) ]
Do you, by chance.. know what's happening..?
no subject
No, I don't think I have any better idea than you. I was sleeping, then I was here.
[ He runs a hand through his damp hair, sighing. It could be the Outsider--but surely he would've shown up by now. ]
Maybe some of the people who were already here know...?
