| Clan Ashara currently resides in a small valley nestled into the mountains, that seems idyllic for a Dalish clan. A stream runs through the valley, descending into a waterfall with the steep cliffs on one side, and sheer mountain walls going straight up on two other sides. The only way in and out is through a gap big enough to lead several aravels through. It's a defensible position, safe from any threats. Except the fade rift that has opened up just a little ways from the gap. The hunters can handle the demons spewing from it well enough, and there are always a couple stationed there to pick off whatever appears. But it's too dangerous to lead the aravels and noncombatants through, and thus, they are forced to wait. To compound the issue, there's a village close to where they're currently staying, and while both sides have kept to themselves, neither are pleased with the current situation. They've helped get a message to the Inquisition in hopes that someone will come take care of the problem, and now both are tensely waiting for something to happen to change the situation, for better or worse. And so the members of Clan Ashara, with their friends in tow, return back to their clan. |

"I would appreciate it if you would take a chance to speak with him. I think that he would also appreciate it," She pauses for a moment, before turning to look at Sina, speaking carefully. "It would be of great interest to both Keeper Thalia, and myself, if the two of you proved...amicable, to one another."

"...you and Thalia have... spoken of this?"

"Now, remember, we are not the shemlen," Deheune continues, lightly patting Sina on the arm, in an attempt to be comforting. "We do not force our children together without a care for their opinions. Your voice will be heard, and if you find the idea disagreeable, that will be the end of it." Deheune does not, however, seem to think of this as a probable event. She's already decided it was a good idea, why would anyone think otherwise?
"I know that it's a little sudden, but..." She gives a little sigh, turning to gaze at her clan. "The life of the Dalish is dangerous, and unpredictable. And both my clan and yours find ourselves with one First apiece. It is not an ideal situation, and this would solve the issue, while giving both of you...a little less pressure, I suppose." She turns back to Sina, still smiling, though there's a tinge of sadness to it now.
"Of course, you will have time to decide. We do not expect the decision to be made and finalized right now. However, we would both appreciate it if you would meet with him. I know that there is little time while you are here to speak, but Beleth writes him often enough, I am sure she would agree to include any letters you write to him."

No, it's for the best. If Thalia thinks it's a good idea, it must be. Sina doesn't know much of Deheune, but she knows and trusts her own Keeper, and can't help but find hope in this having been discussed at all; it means they think she'll live. It means there's hope for not only Clan Dahlasanor, but for the future, perhaps even herself.
So why does she feel like there are suddenly walls closing in around her? Sina has always known this to be part of her role, but somehow this feels like the end of something, a cutting off of possibility. And she hasn't even said yes yet.
"...I... will speak to him," she says awkwardly, her competent and diplomatic adult persona slipping away in favor of a shy and stammering girl with no real world experience. "...serannas, Keeper.
