The tables and chairs are set up, there's some parchment and a few quills for note-taking, and a table on the side has pitchers of water as well as a motley assortment of cups. He's done what he can, done the footwork and talking, and now has to hope it catches and spreads.

And hope Purrelden doesn't tangle herself around something with her leash again.

He recognizes that look, or he thinks he does, which means Anders has to swallow hard to keep from looking too amused.

"That's the poisonous one, yes. For a great many plants, memorization is the only way to know what's safe or not. There are some tricks, like watching what birds eat, but some of them can eat berries that are poisonous to us so it's not a foolproof method. Now."

Anders glances down at his table and notes before looking back out. "I could simply lecture on the ones I have here, or I could answer questions if there's something in particular you want to know how to identify. Fungus, ferns, berries, I don't know them all, but I know an assortment."

Well at least somebody's amused. North, satisfied that his trial by fire at least taught him a lesson, settles back and lets a few other people ask questions, taking mental note of the answers that they receive.

"Do you have any devices that you use to help you memorize the differences between some of the more difficult ones?" Since by now a couple others have been pointed out that are nigh-indistinguishable.

"Generally, I write down notes. Which is, incidentally..." Anders pats the pile of scrap parchment on the table he's been using. "This goes over the most commonly confused flora when it comes to what's edible and not. It's not thorough, it's heavily weighted toward what you're going to find in Ferelden and Orlais as it seems like that's where a great many Inquisition missions are taking people, but if someone is heading out further I can help them review."
