The tables and chairs are set up, there's some parchment and a few quills for note-taking, and a table on the side has pitchers of water as well as a motley assortment of cups. He's done what he can, done the footwork and talking, and now has to hope it catches and spreads.

And hope Purrelden doesn't tangle herself around something with her leash again.

He watches the footfall lesson intently, feeling glad it's not something Templars can use. Even now he's still nervous about being tracked. He'd been chased for so long, through so much, and he's fairly certain the fear will never be fully gone. But the people here learning aren't loyalists so much. They want chances too, or at least they're considering it, which means he can remember to breath.

After, he drops by where she's sitting with Fen, raising an eyebrow and reaching over to scratch under the kitten's chin. "That seemed to go well."

Fortunately unless you've been trained in the art of earth magic by a Dalish keeper chances are good no one in attendance will ever be able to achieve any kind of range. Even Velanna can't track much more than a hundred yards or so.

When Anders joins her Fen growls at him, tolerating the scratching for about two seconds before attacking Anders's fingers with claws and teeth. Yes, he still doesn't like him. This makes Velanna smile more than Anders's comment.

"I don't know that without years of practice anyone here will be able to keep from accidentally catapulting a rabbit but at least they know it's possible."

He gives the cat a slightly amused look as it gnaws and goes after his fingers, shaking his head before pulling them away. Considering the cat's name, Fen, he shouldn't be surprised.

"If that's the worst that can happen, I find myself not too worried." He takes a seat next to her, coaxing Purrelden off his shoulder and grabbing a few dried meat strips for his cat from his pouch. "I'd offer your cat some but he may try to take off my whole hand. He certainly matches you in temperament."

The comment is gentle; he doesn't think it'll go awry. He's pretty sure she likes being prickly most of the time.

"He's quite pleasant to most others, actually," Velanna comments a little airily, smiling slightly as she strokes her hand over the kitten's back. "It's just you he doesn't like." Which means her cat has impeccable taste, in her opinion.

She sounds smug about that, and Anders shakes his head. "Is there something you'd like to say, or are you just being cold because you can and know it won't shock me?"

Velanna makes a noise of consideration, tilting her head slightly.

"The latter, I think."

"There's that, at least." Anders sighs. Sometimes he doesn't know with Velanna, but he cares about her a great deal which means he'll accept her being... her.

"How do you feel about the teaching? Did it go well for you? Would you be interested in doing it again?"
