NOTES: Plotting post and IC announcement.

The tables and chairs are set up, there's some parchment and a few quills for note-taking, and a table on the side has pitchers of water as well as a motley assortment of cups. He's done what he can, done the footwork and talking, and now has to hope it catches and spreads.

And hope Purrelden doesn't tangle herself around something with her leash again.

No one wants blood on their toast, Anders. Calm down.

But she's happy to see him, when he does approach (at last; she saw you in that crowd). Barkley happily goes to sit on his feet, tail wagging; he's learned a bit that neither Anders nor Purrelden like it when he jumps up, though he is staring up at the cat with a besotted look on his face. Cat friend!!

"Oh! You're welcome, of course. Do you think they're useful?"

Slowly he lowers Purrelden down and lets her sniff at Barkley. She's steadily getting more used to mabari, and after a moment she's wiggling to be let down. Anders sets her gently on Barkley's back, where she seems content to sit for now.

"I do." His pride will never be intact again. "Especially the sleep and coma options. I can't cast them, which means more mages around who can are... invaluable." Merrill's helping, and he can't even see any selfishness in it, or anything that's not a positive. It makes any sort of bristling impossible. ...At least he can still comfortably hate Fenris. That hasn't been taken from him.

Anders stands there a little awkwardly, not sure what else to say. "And no one's thrown rocks yet." There. That's something.

Unfortunately for Barkley, he's more mutt than mabari. He's larger than Purrelden, but not by much. He yips a bit in surprise but then settles, even though he's trying to turn his head to greet Purrelden with a sniff and a wagging tail.

Pride isn't all it's cracked up to be, Anders. Take it from Merrill. "Well, if you ever need them cast on someone, I'm just a sending crystal away. Unless I'm somewhere else, obviously -- I'm not even actually sure who else can do Entropy magic here. It's not something most people advertise." Which Merrill finds ridiculous, for the exact reasons that made her display it. It can be useful, and not just for combat.

"If anyone does, I think rocks will be thrown back. A lot of people seem to really find this interesting, even non-mages." It's definitely something.

"I'll call. If it's someone who is willing to have sleep cast on them." There's a tiny edge to his voice before he exhales and shakes his head. "I... I'm sorry. I know some have cause to distrust mages." He still doesn't find it easy. They're people. People, not a rotting dam wall.

But people came here. They came and watched, and not all of them were mages. Not all of them distrusted magic. He needed to breathe and not get worked up.

"For as long as people are interested and not terrified, it's a good sign. Maybe more will trickle in, too."
