It has been a difficult few months for the Inquisition- terrible battles, dangerous missions, strange illnesses. The Healers are well overdue a moment of semi-organized rest and relaxation. Much as she had before on behalf of the mages nearly a year ago, Adelaide takes the time to arrange for said respite. The Orlesian healing tents have been cleared of the potions, bandages, and poultices in favor of chairs, cushions, and braziers. Lanterns and the odd throw of fur or knit wool warm the space. Having more time to settle in and become established- there is more room, more places to sit, more tables propped up for holding glasses and mugs. The space is open, warm, and inviting with an elegant assortment of copper mugs and porcelain cups set around flat side tables arranged with an assortment of teas, honey, and small pots of cubed sugar and carafes of cream bribed from the kitchen. To one side there are bottles of wine and a small keg or two of ale and mead, tankards and glasses waiting. There are dried fruits and hard cheeses, dried meat and hard crusted bread, butter and sausage and a few odd baked tarts here and there. Across the entrance to the tents there is a sign:

Must be a healer or a friend of a healer for entry. Unless urgent (imminent death) no patients will be taken at this time.

Tacked below was a list of rules:

• NO WORKING
• Tea and coffee are to the left, wine on the right, food in the center. Please keep things in their proper place.
• Don't hog the wine
• Don't hog the tea
• Don't hog the coffee
• Don't hog the food
• Serve yourself and whoever else is waiting for a glass
• If you finish a bottle open a new one, don't recork it for someone else to find
• Brew a fresh pot of coffee or tea when you finish what is available
• Clean up after yourselves

Hello again, shiny elf lady. Garahel, always on the lookout for more food and generous people, wags his tail and heads over as Inessa gets a refill on her tea. As Sina's reaching for another snack, the mabari stares up hopefully at her. She won't let him starve, right?

Hello again big doofy dog!! She will never let him starve.
Sina easily passes Gaharel a treat, then stoops down to scratch his ears, because he is very good and they are best friends.

Practically inhaling that treat, Garahel leans into that ear-scratching before moving just enough to begin licking her in thanks. At that, Inessa shakes her head, amused but not about to encourage bad manners. "Tsk, Garahel. Behave yourself. She's not going to want dog slobber on her face."

Oh dear. Sina allows a few licks, then gives him another ear scritch and rises, casting a smile Inessa's way before pouring herself some tea.

"Sina, isn't it? It's nice to see you again. Garahel certainly appreciates it." Garahel wags his tail, pleased at all the attention given. But he knows not to jump, especially when a lady has her tea. Inessa made that very clear early on with him. "How are you faring?"

"Inessa," Sina greets in response, "fine, same as always." She grins sheepishly. "I hadn't realized you were a healer. Shame on me, I suppose."

Inessa shrugs, not offended. "I know some first aid and the basic healing spell, nothing more. If the regular healers are overwhelmed or need relief, then I step in when present. But I wouldn't call myself a main fixture here. We often work beyond Skyhold."

"That's more or less what I do," Sina says with another smile, plus some herbalism. I'm better at healing plants than people, but I'm there when the usual healers need relief."

"Is the garden partly your doing, then? It's a lovely, peaceful place though I don't visit as often as I would like. Garahel wouldn't harm the plants if I asked him not to, but he's not above digging holes elsewhere in the earth." Garahel looks up with a quiet, confused whine. What's wrong with digging holes?

"Serannas," Sina says without thinking, then almost recoils a little, hoping Inessa won't be bothered-- she's learned to be more careful about her Dalishness around other elves, regardless of how friendly they appear. "I could always use some help digging holes," she continues, pushing on, "it's hard on the shoulders, at a certain point."

The elven word doesn't prompt either awe or recoiling from Inessa. Having learned by now what it means, she just nods. Glancing down at Garahel, she arches an eyebrow. "Really? Well, in that case, I'm sure he'd love to help out...though you might have to be firm on letting him know when to stop. I think he's almost convinced that he can reach the other side of the world if he just goes far enough sometime." The mabari wags his tail at that, still eager to try.

"Well that's something we could try too," Sina says with a grin, "though I suppose gardening should come first. Is there a particular phrase he responds to? Or shall I just say 'stop digging'?"

[circleprodigy]

Inessa glances down at him, speculatively. "I think just 'stop' would be simple enough. Just don't bribe him with treats or he'll come to expect it, and he's already a bottomless pit. Belly rubs work just as well, don't they--no, not here." If Garahel stretches out, there isn't going to be a lot of room for people to move around. He huffs at being denied, but is easily appeased with some scratching.

"So it is, then," Sina cheerfully replies, "I'll come find you next time I need an assistant."
