WHAT: Sam and Gavin feel like they need to better prepare themselves for those climbing/falling lessons. Time to work out.

So lessons in falling safely were going well. That was probably just being nice about it. Gavin knew how to climb, but his falling expertise was in 'no grace and nearly breaking a neck'. Sam on the other hand could take a fall well, but his climbing could certainly take work.

Obviously they needed to work on some things, like perhaps working out to better themselves. And what better way than to do that with a buddy?

"So wait... you fell and managed to do so in such a way to slam into a horse?" He doesn't want to believe it, but after knowing Gavin after this long he does. Sam finds it amusing that they both have a habit of falling or hurting themselves in some odd fashion, but Gavin truly has a gift.

Well having a wall to push up against was much easier. Still it took certain tries for him to balance his knees onto his elbows before pushing off. It certainly was odd looking at the world this way, leaning against the wall upside while having a conversation with someone right side up.

"So you just don't want to be better at something? Just kind of do a little of everything?"

"Yeah, exactly. Why settle on doing one thing well when I can do dozens of things with mediocrity."

He watches Sam as he moves, his hand going out to touch the man's ankles and help stabilize him.

"Then I always have plenty to learn, right?"

Actually with the wall helping him he's pretty stable, so playfully he moves a leg away to bop Gavin on the head.

"It still doesn't hurt to be better at least one thing, Gavin."

Gavin laughs and rubs his forehead, pretending it hurt more than it had.

"Well, alright, but what in Thedas would I want to be better at than everyone? Can I just be good at cheering people up? Is that a skill I can master?"

"That isn't something you should be asking me. I think that's a great skill to have, but those questions are ones that only you can answer."

[slipshot]

"Now you're getting all philosophical on me," Gavin accused, laughing, before pushing Sam over (gently, but firmly) in retaliation.

Just when he was starting to get comfortable, too. Sam huffs as he crashes to the ground, reaching out to bonk Gavin on his leg. "It's an honest answer. I can't just tell you what you want to be good at, or what you should."

"I would tell you if I knew," Gavin replied honestly, laughing, before stepping over to help him back up. "Right now, I want to be the best that I can be at helping the Inquisition defeat Corypheus. Everything else is sort of secondary."

"Well that's certainly a great thing to be good at." Sam expects the help graciously, giving a small grunt as he stretched out his muscles. "Well I think that's enough handstand practice for the day."

Gavin laughed, and patted Sam's shoulder companionably. "Sounds good to me. Come on, let's see if I can't get you to learn how to drink. Ale on me."
