A - The Magic Man's Come and He's Here to Stay
The morning that changed it all had not begun like he'd expected, obviously. It had been rather embarrassing actually (not that he would be recounting that particular part of the story, especially when he would be apologizing for it for the rest of the month most likely). But ever since the change had happened, he began to make regular trips outside of the walls of Skyhold and out into the forests, away from the immediate eyes and ears of the general masses.
After all, he didn't need everyone looking in on him as he pointed his shard-embedded hand at a tree, waiting for something to happen. He felt terribly foolish, but he knew he had shot a beam from his shard - several times, in fact. Whatever was happening, it wasn't a fluke, and he had better learn to control it less it get away from him in a critical moment.
"On!" Pause. "Fire!" Another pause. "Damn it, do something!"
Pew!
"Please don't let that be my trigger phrase...."
B - Listen Up, I Never Say Anything Twice (Classes)
Currently, Kirk run three classes, all at varying times. It made for an interesting schedule, but it kept him busy, and he enjoyed it. All three classes were open to anyone who wished to join, which meant his classes often had mixed skill levels.
Mathematics had Kirk walking between the students, grouping them according to kill level and doing mini-sessions. With the smallest ones or those with no knowledge he focused on the basics, patiently pointing out how to handle the equations. The groups went up from there, and after a bit Kirk clapped his hands to get their attention.
"All right, who wants to play a game?"
--
Once math was over, he moved on to the sciences. His focus for right now was an understanding of the human body (he was not comfortable enough in the physiology of the other races to teach it), and overall health, along with natural science such as how weather worked. Really it varied, and every lesson could get easily derailed as students asked questions and he expanded.
"All right, all right - anything else before I move on?"
--
And of course there was self defense classes, focusing on hand-to-hand combat. Like his other classes, he paired skill level with skill level. Unlike his other two, he was far more strict here, walking between partners, critiquing and demonstrating.
"Come on, go at it for real!" he called. "This is practice for a real life situation, so better treat it like one!"
C - The Man About Town
When not practicing with his shard or teaching his classes, Kirk was running errands around Skyhold, acting as a sort of courier for businesses. It wasn't the best pay, but it saw him through the days. It meant he ran between businesses in the market and even around the medical tents.
He spent time at the stables as well, working on his horsemanship, or visiting with Boggie. He could often be seen talking to him and petting the bog unicorn, sometimes with his cats, Leonard and Nikita, in tow.
Of course he would make appearances at the tavern, happy to sit and enjoy an evening of music and song with drink in hand. Some nights he could convinced to sing of his strange, other-worldly songs too.

He gave him another wink then reached out to offer his finger for the kitten higher up to sniff. So that way it could get to know him since they were on this ride together. Might as well, right? At least that was his thinking currently. Iskandar had already decided they'd probably spend more time together in the future, himself and Jim, so that meant more time with the felines.
no subject
"Oh really? And what words might those be? I would hate for you to be inaccurate."
He winked back, letting the kittens decide what to do about the offered digit. He had his own ideas, but kept them to himself for the moment. Nikita sniffled, little nose twitching, and finally butted her head against it. Leonard, for his part, seemed unconcerned and was happy to snooze in his spot against the horse's flank, absorbing its warmth.
The air was filled only with their sound of their conversation and the crunch of the horses' hooves now, with the occasional creak of leather. They had passed through the gates and were edging towards the forests, and Kirk was glad he had remembered to bring a cloak. One could tend to forget within Skyhold and its strange, unseasonal warmth.

Iskandar stroked the kitten, letting the kitten have the attention she so obviously deserved. She was clearly ready for it. Asking for it even. Well, not asking for it. More like demanding it as was her right as a member of the feline race. He liked that about cats actually.
"Though with how open you are to hearing them I would say you would enjoy them a great deal. And then things beyond words as well."
no subject
Demanding was right. All things. All ways. Kirk had gotten used to it, though thankfully the kittens had gained tact and wisdom with their age, as well as patience. To an extent. At least he and Sam were no longer being interrupted during intimate moments by some immediate concern or other that could very well have waited til morning.
"As I said, I would hate for you to be inaccurate. And the only way to ensure you are accurate is to have you experience it for yourself, right?"
no subject
Though he had loved many in his time and would love many more, not all could open their hearts so freely. So before he started anything he made sure that the one he desired could give themselves to him. Without causing heartbreak to others who were innocent in this.
It was the right thing to do.

Kirk almost laughed at the question. Not for it's lack of sincerity, as it was quite sweet, but simply the way he asked. So brazen and bold and with the very clear knowledge that a favorable answer would see Kirk ravished in some fashion. Which sounded delightful, quite honestly.
"No I am not beholden, bethroved, promised, hand-fasted, wedded, or any other term that might prevent you from kissing me or needing me in gold conscious," he informed him. "Though it had better be quite the kiss now for insinuating that I might so baldly encourage it if I weren't."
no subject
Or a man by the neck as it were. At least he made sure to carefully move the kitten to his own horse first to ensure the animal was not going to fall or claw or any sort of thing that might ruin his 'quite the kiss' that he was about to perform.
After that it was but a matter of catching Jim by the back of the neck and hauling their horses close so he could kiss him deeply, even passionately. One could easily tell that he knew what to do with that mouth of his. Aside from talking up a storm anyway which was rather essential to note since he was extremely good at that much. Just about anyone could agree to that even after meeting him just once.
Pulling back, he gave him a cheeky sort of grin then encouraged his horse into a trot. Much like he was saying that if Jim wanted more of that he sure knew who to follow for more.

Nikita protested, but settled when she realized she was to become queen of her own mount. A good thing too as Kirk suddenly found himself quite distracted by Alexander.
Kirk was never one to give worse than he got, and he certainly did not want to disappoint Alexander the Great of all people. He reached out to steady himself against a massive arm, pressing against his mouth and proving that he was not all talk either. You learn to speak a few alien languages and you learn to do some impressive things with your tongue.
He was left a touch breathless when the other pulled back, laughing beneath his breath as the man took off at a trot (now doubt a concession to his own lack of riding skills, which he appreciated).
"Like the chase, do you?" Kirk teased, urging his own mount into a trot to catch up.

Had he essentially just made up his mind about what he was going to do and was sort of dragging the world with him? Yes. This was basically what he'd done his entire life. It was like he was the force of nature that was moving the world as he pleased. Perhaps he realized this and perhaps he did not. Whatever the case happened to be, he certainly knew how to help people enjoy the wild ride.
"Will you deny that you desire another kiss or more?"
no subject
How many times had James T. Kirk simply dragged the worlds along behind him as he solved a problem? Either you were with him, or you got out of his way. His reputation had not sprung from nothing, after all.
"And begin our friendship with lies? Never, Alexander!"
no subject
He laughed at his own words. It was always good to be having friends around for the were the people that he treasured a great deal. Iskandar looked over his shoulder as Jim's horse managed to get him to catch up. Probably because he hadn't been pushing his own horse too fast since he was more than a little aware that he was the experienced rider here.
"In return I shall promise you that I shall always give you my complete honesty. You will find I hide nothing of myself from others. I bring everything to a table so it is up to those before me to decide to partake of my banquet."
no subject
He could not help but laugh at the other's turn of phrase though. It was rather poetic, in its way, and colorful to say the least. He beamed at the other, blue eyes dark and glinting.
"Such a pity, then, that you are hiding so much from me right now," he purposefully let his eyes drag over the other, biting his lower lip.
no subject
"I can easily show you more should we find a comfortable location. Really the question is have you something on you that will allow a full performance of what I can offer? Or shall we give but a taste with promises of more later?"
Iskandar clearly was in favor or either option here.
no subject
Both were tempting, weren't they? A quickie up against a tree or a bit of a stone - the promised, potential roughness was enough to give Kirk a pleasant tingle between his legs. But a longer affair, tossing and tumbling and working up a real sweat - that was also enough to produce the familiar ache. Decisions, decisions, especially when he wasn't pressed for time. He wasn't teaching today and he was taking a break from his usual coin-earning errands.
He glanced back behind his saddle, a personal one he had invested in that he always kept packed and ready just in case for missions with a bedroll - only removed to be cleaned and aired as necessary. Glancing between them, he was sure their cloaks could provide any extra coverage they might need.
"Well, I was looking for a way to fill my afternoon..."
no subject
The wink he gave him said they would even if there was no oil though. He was not a man to leave a lover unsatisfied. His pleasures were gained from sharing in the moment rather than simply taking.
So with that decided, he looked around where they were at for a decent place for them to have a good time. The nature of the area was beautiful so he was sure a great man would suffice for this. And then another time they could take a roll in the hay elsewhere. Literally at times even since he was currently residing in the stables with his horse to let smaller people have the much needed beds.
"We will have to see if you can handle me once we stop."
no subject
"Are you sure it should not be the other way around?" he smirked, turning his horse and heading for a small spot he had sighted. They didn't need a full clearing, and some cover would be welcome in case anyone did some wandering by. No need to cause a scandal of some sort.
"You're giving yourself quite the reputation to live up to."
no subject
He turned his horse to follow, obviously letting Jim take the lead for this one. Of the two of them the smaller man was going to be more familiar with their surroundings than himself after having been here awhile. Of course it also let the large King admire that athletic figure on the back of that horse. That was a very handsome man and he was already wondering what was under the clothes besides what had to be wonderful muscles for him to run his large hands over.
"I know I will live up to mine. I'm certain you're just as confident."
no subject
"I can count on one hand the complaints I've received in my life, and most of those are from my youth."
He pulled up and dismounted, leaving the kittens' leads connected to the saddle. They were long enough for them to explore a bit, but not wander far. Sure that his horse and the kittens were secure he pushed past a bit of underbrush to a small clearing - large enough to spread out his bedroll, and sheltered enough not to give anyone passing by a full view right off. It had the air of secretive seclusion, which gave all of this a little bit of a salacious feeling that made him smile.
"I think this will fit you," he looked over his shoulder at Iskandar, smirking widely.
no subject
He had no complaints though. Getting off his horse, he patted the beast and let him wander. Bucephalus would go nowhere, of that he was certain. This beast was loyal to him even without their statuses as Spirits. He would gladly wait here until it was time for his master to get up and leave. That left him room to turn his full attention to Jim who he grabbed and pulled against him, showing off just how powerful those muscles were.
"Still, we will easily work with this. There can be something exciting about tight spaces."
no subject
He gasped when Iskandar grabbed him, pulling him close like that with little to no effort. There was something incredibly arousing about that, that made him shiver as his arms wrapped around the thickly corded shoulders. As a man who was used to being in command and being obeyed, it surprised some of his partners to learn he enjoyed being handled like this. Usually he would be more reluctant about it, but there was something about Iskandar, a way he simply clicked with him, that he felt all right ceding that bit of control.
"Though I am eager to see how you make it work," he leaned up to bite at him, fingers pushing beneath his shirt along the top of his spine.
