[But the Outsider is probably right, on that front. Rearing up and slamming down seems to be more their style, if she had to guess. As Lux is included, she chuckles.]
Nah, they'll probably just think of him as another kind of fennec. Alright, I'm going ahead.
[She casts Barrier, just in case, then rests the staff on her back as she straightens and begins heading their way. The last thing she wants is for the nuggalopes to think they're about to use their weapons. Having remembered her Amulet of Accord this time as well, she's given it to Araceli again should matters deteriorate.
The nuggalopes don't seem inclined to leave or attack just yet, though, a good sign? They grunt and perk up a little when the large horned woman approaches, slowly and steadily, not wanting to catch them by surprise in any way. Which is good, since her every move is watched.]

Excuse you he is king of the fennecs, never forget it.]
I think...I could use my cane with the horns. And get up on one that way.
[If she can set off with her good leg then it actually won't be so bad in all honesty as she rubs the back of her neck at the way the magic makes her skin prickle. After all, they're barely going to see her coming.
Moving out in a wider circle so Korrin can draw more of their attention, Araceli clicks her tongue to get Lux to trot along after her, humming under her breath.]
no subject
I can assist you with my own magic, should you require it.
[ Telekinesis: great for stuff.
Lux is then set back down so he can follow Araceli. The Outsider does not want to circle around the beasts; it's too much of a predatory movement. He simply walks up, a bit between Korrin and Araceli, and outstretches a hand with some tantalizing treats in the palm.
He's four thousand years old, he can wait all day. ]

So far. Korrin speaks quietly, more gentle than her usual voice, hoping to keep the nuggalopes calm.]
If I can get one to kneel down, that'll help, too. Maybe they'll listen.
What do you think, does this look good? You can have it....
[Offering an apple, Korrin stays put and allows the nuggalope to amble over to her. It pauses more than once, but the lure of a treat is something not to be ignored. Moments later, it quickly snags the apple, munching away while Korrin reaches out with that hand slowly, to pet it. So far, so good?
Trying her best to stay still for all that she wants to bounce with excitement, Korrin glances over to see how the Outsider is doing with those treats. Unless hers is the most mellow nuggalope ever, odds are good he'll attract some. And she's right, at a couple are perking up.]
There...that's a good nuggalope. Go ahead, it's all yours.
[Now for the interesting part. Will it accept her as a rider?]
Okay, you might want to stay back for this part. Let's not get anyone trampled.

Knowing just how well the amulet works against those who actively want her blood after Antiva, Araceli moves in where she finds a gap that she can get back out of easily; being unable to move quickly or turn sharply on the right leg means not being just so bold as she'd like. Lux puts his nose to the ground, snuffling away, ears flicking this way and that as she slips into her native language, comforting words and a soothing voice coming more naturally that way.
It's pretty much her talking to Lux voice, in all honesty, usually if she's leaving him behind like last did before heading to Rivain.]
Relájate. He's more scared of you stepping on his very fine tail. [A little wary about offering treats considering she's already got one healing hand at present, she still holds some out to what happens to be one so fat it reminds her more of a walrus than anything else. Pulling the universal 'can I tempt you?' face, she waits it out, hiding the smirk when it trundles over.] Eso es lo pensé.
[It's a good angle to watch Korrin from though, and she dares raising her voice, just a touch.] Sirena if you die after I gave you a pretty speech and a ring, I will be very angry, remember that please. [#bestgirlfriend]

While the Outsider has no intention of capturing any for himself, at present, he does like watching the creatures amble about. The one nosing against his hand for treats gets a gentle pat to its horns, but the Outsider is otherwise mostly watching the others.
Staring too much is a predator thing, after all. ]
If anyone dies, I will undoubtedly be blamed in some way, so if we could refrain...?
[ Okay, it's hard to disguise being trampled by a nuggalope for anything else, but just in case. ]
Though I would like to see the ring. [ #nosy ]

Die, when I have you and nuggalope-riding to live for? Never.
And I promise I'll let you have a good look at it soon, Outsider. Just let me see if this one will let me ride it.
[She doesn't bother with the saddles the Avvar gave them yet, wanting to see if it'll accept her bareback first. Bracing herself, she climbs aboard as smoothly as she can, which given the size of the creature isn't as much as she'd prefer. The nuggalope grunts and paces back, less at ease than before. Feeding it's one thing, suddenly mounting it is another. When Korrin gently nudges it with her feet, it bolts forward and she almost falls off, only not doing so because she's clinging to its horns.]
Whoa, calm down!
no subject
I feel confident you'll like it. [Confident enough she'd put money on it.
But there she goes. Her sirena. Maybe arse over tits, Araceli can't quite be sure as she peers around the nuggalope she's petting, Lux cocking his head so far to the side it's a wonder the fox doesn't overbalance. Korrin's a Knight-Enchanter. The Fade didn't devour her. She's sturdy enough for this surely?] I think I'll opt for a saddle, if I can have a hand.
[Which is of course when another nuggalope comes seeking treats.] My friend, I do not think yours are up to the task any more than mine.
no subject
Aaand then Korrin starts getting tossed around by the nuggalope. ]
Perhaps reins, as well. [ He's a helper. ] Let it adjust to the weight of you on its back first, perhaps. But once we are certain Korrin will not be thrown, I will assist you on the back of another, Araceli.
Lux- perhaps you should stand with me, when we do that.
no subject
Okay, I get it, you need more bribes. Give me a sec....
[Give her a minute to regain her breath and it'll happen. She glances over to the others, trying to pretend that undignified display didn't happen.]
No throwing over here, just be extra gentle with them. But maybe it's just me; you're smaller, they might prefer that.
no subject
[You know what's really handy about dating Korrin at the moment? Araceli's naturally used to avoiding horns as the nuggalope shoves at her when she stops feeding it, digging into her pocket for more treats so she ducks smoothly to avoid horns in bad places.
Deciding that she might as well get the saddle since she can sling that over a shoulder and wander back over, the nuggalope follows slowly, sniffing noisily.]
Do not eat my hair, thank you. I will be upset. And then she - the loud one falling off your friend - will be upset. And then all of your friends will be upset I think. And then we will probably all be very flat apart from you. [A nod to The Outsider, because she doesn't think he'd be smooshed by the nuggalopes somehow.]
no subject
If they do eat hair, think of it as a compliment, [ he suggests, scratching his new nuggalope friend under the chin. ] One of their smaller cousins are a part of my sleeve, once. I was flattered.
[ And he really was, because no one else had ever touched him on purpose before. Oops. ]
Though if everyone is trampled, I will be sure that you are given a lovely eulogy.
[ With a glance toward Korrin- ] Are you comfortable?
no subject
No hair-eating and no trampling, or no treats. That's the rule. Even if not many people can claim to being trampled by something with hands.
[Distracting her nuggalope friend with more treats, Korrin takes a moment to ensure that he's not going to bolt before looking over to the Outsider.]
As long as I'm reasonably sure he's not going to try and throw me off, yeah. He's pretty sturdy, sturdier than a horse. Though it probably would be better with a saddle.
no subject
Saddle over the shoulder (her leg almost buckles but relief practically sings through her when it doesn't) and with the nuggalope still following her, she heads in The Outsider's direction, fishing out another treat to pacify it.]
Do you want to find out if my hair oil gives them the shits? [Can you even imagine that possibility?]
Remember to throw me in the sea. It doesn't need to have any ceremony, just toss me in. [Throw her back in, she's done with this land bullshit etc etc.]
What about the rest following us if you're riding? Or is it going to take most of us being up and mounted too?
no subject
I won't be the one cleaning it up. [ sooooooo do what you gotta araceli
Patting his new nuggalope friend, perfectly content to stay on the ground for the moment, the Outsider fishes out another treat for a smaller, curious member of the herd. ]
If it takes off suddenly, at least one of us should be able to keep up, either by nuggalope or horse. Does anyone know how swift they are?
no subject
The Avvar said they are rather fast for their size, at least to the point where they can keep up with a horse and they have more stamina to boot.
As for the rest, it would probably help if we all rode. The more that are ridden, the more they'll see us as people to follow. I hope.
no subject
Technically stolen. But she was liberating it from Tevinter so the damn thing should have been grateful to her and it only peer as she uses her cane for balance to buckle it in place.]
How do the Avvar survive this cold, I wasn't made for this. Brunilda is somewhere in Castileos laughing at me. Shall I name you after her? [No. No she won't name anything after her friends but she wants to keep talking in the same voice to the nuggalope as she staggers upright, almost toppling backwards before she plants the cane.]
Can I request a hand up? I can get part of the way but I have no desire to startle it when I can't jump off so easily.
